So for a while now I've been driving in my 2003 around with no windshield washer action (the wiper motor would turn on still if I pressed the washer button in) from the muilty function switch. I ordered a new one from amazon, cheap yes but good reviews. Put it in and it worked fine for about two weeks then it worked sometimes. Now back to no washer function but the wipers still work. Could I have a broken wire? I don't have a tilt wheel either. Winter is coming road salt sucks with no washers coming on!

So at the washer pump itself do you have a way to check for power?
If you pull the stock or push the button and the wipers come on chances are the multifunction switch is working and sending a power to the washer pump

The connection at the washer pump is suspect
The clip and wires are under the hood and often get spilled on, the wires can be corroded and the connection intermittent
So the test is to check for power when you activate the washer/wipers at the pump

My BII the issue was always the connector at the pump needed to be cleaned/fixed. I eventually replaced the connector with one from a later model when mine could no longer be cleaned up

Dude there is not enough bandwidth on North America to handle the noises our fleet of Fords make and if I start in on the Polaris machines and quality issues my keyboard would saw itself in half from the amount of key strokes required!

I have been chasing a rattle just to the left, behind the seat in the roof pillar for three years. I have failed miserably finding it.

@Tony: I wonder if spraying some of that grow-foam insulation into that pillar if that would stop the rattle? Just a thought...

The seat belt goes through there.  I started turning up the radio but the passenger door speaker is rattling - time for speakers. I thought about foam also.

I had a 2000 XLT that had a directional problem, the left directional light worked if I took the Steering Column apart and played with it for a while.
When I put it back together the left directional wouldn't work.
Turned out to be a bad connector, they have locking clip and it had bike, it would work loose during assembly.
I tie-wrapped the main connector to the Multi-function Sw. and all was good.

Not Wipers but the same switch.
