My 96 expo has a ford JBL premium sound system with a power antenna. I want to install a double din touch screen. When I pulled the stock head unit out I seen that there is no antenna cable. So I'm assuming that it's in one of the plugs on the back of the radio? My new head unit has a spot for an antenna cable like most normal radios would have. My question is how do I get this to work? Is there an aftermarket adapter I need to get or do I have to ditch the power antenna for a traditional antenna?

According to Crutchfield there is a lot to do to replace the JBL premium system. The amp and antennae both have adapters in their install kit.

The stock amp and powered sub I'm not worried about as they will be replaced

You are denying your actual passions. What you are thinking about fixing up is a DONOR VEHICLE for what you really want to be driving daily. And a quite appropriate one at that :)
