Picked this 03 Escape up dirt cheap. Issues I have found so far both front coil springs are broke bank 1 converter is plugged. Ordered a new converter. Yesterday I replaced the front springs and struts.

I watched a 45 minute long step by step YouTube video on the removal and replacement of the converter. Looked simple they removed 2 parts ac compressor easy 3 bolts fold it out of the way and the oil filter. It seemed easier then putting plugs in it

Scored a y pipe at work today and a tail light. Now just waiting on the FedEx guy to drop the new converter off tomorrow. Then clean it up and flip it. So far total investment is $598. That includes buying the car and the converter. So far all other parts have been free.

Are you going to do any tune up parts, oil change, filters that sort of thing?

Let the fun begin... For $98 on Ebay I'm very impressed with the quality. The part looks good. Now I just hope the fitment is as good as the looks

If you were to make the escape RWD it could take a SBF I am sure, but if you did put a sbf into an Escape you would deserve to be smacked! That is one less SBF that can go in a Ranger or heaven forbid the early Bronco dudes get their hands on another one of our Explorer drivetrains LOL

I think that would be the balls... !

What a sweet ride that would be, I decent looking Small SUV and plenty of power.

I always thought the engine bay would need some alterations, what exactly I wasn't sure but the Escape has a small area up front !

The cat swap went ok except the broken manifold bolt. Next on the list is set of plugs. Which means removing the intake.

New ball joints are in. The rear cat is ordered along with new muffler. 6 spark plugs are the plan tonight.

I've had several b2's through the years and a few explorers. This escape was bought to flip. I gave $300 for it and with parts I'm up to about $700

While browsing Ebay looking for a grill. I came across a 2" lift kit. Curiosity kicked and I clicked on it. Pretty nice kit actually will clear 31's. So by this time I'm out in driveway looking at the Escape and invisioning it sitting on 31's. I did a quick Google search for lifted Escapes found a few liked what I saw. It will be here next week. Now the problem that is facing me I how I'm going to hide this from the wife.
