The point: "Ford and Mazda are adding more than 35,000 pickup trucks in North America to a list of vehicles that should not be driven because they have Takata air bag inflators with a high risk of exploding."

I'm looking at it as an excellent chance to pick up some good rangers for cheap. I bet if someone has an 06 and is teetering on fixing it or not they have made up their mind.

I'm relatively serious.

Ford will fix them for free, so I don't see this changing peoples mind about fixing them...

"adding" means the number of affected vehicles has just increased., effective immediately.

This, and therefore a moot issue. As the story reads, replacement parts are available right now.

Looks like it's all good, but it's weird how many people will just feel "off" about it, and yes, sell because of this, even though it's just a free replacement part.

My dad is been waiting for over 6 months now and still no ''free'' replacement part from Ford. No wonder why some people get scared and sell their truck!!!  I'm about to get another one from a junkyard and set-off the faulty one to see what happen! I don't want him to sit in front of that ''claymore'' anymore!!!

Ford is recalling 2004 through 2006.
Funny over ten years and they are just recalling the trucks !
Wouldn't you think if there was going to be a problem it would have raised it head by now ?
I guess I am just a little confused !

I just had mine replaced in Nov.17.Now there gonna do it again.I called Tropical Ford in Orlando, couple days ago,the parts are in,and there holding them for me.Im gonna call and make appointment for some next week. The only thing that sucks is,they won't give a loaner for,3 hours work.Same thing as last time in November. But i'll deal with it,cause its free.I'll just take a small coolerwith a few brews in it,and wait.same as I did last time.
see ya,old retired guy:cheers:frd
