Something to note; the pillar trims changed in '03 and they do not fit the '02 and older models, well, they do, but they stick out a lot.

For the brackets, i just got some M5 sized hex bolts, though as i said, i need to find some little washers as the holes in the brackets are larger than that.

For the handle trims (the part you hold) i have the little 7/32(?) or 5.5mm screw/bolts from a junk yard - you cannot buy these from Ford anymore - however something easily sized from Home Depot or hardware store works fine - they're covered by the trim caps anyway.

Oh, and before you're stung for them, those little caps for the screws, DO NOT come with the handle trims!! and they're about $4 each!!!!!

Arg with more research I found another thread where the dude states:

"In '03, Ford made some interior changes to the trucks. Making the A-pillar grab handles standard on all models, among other upgrades over the '02 model year. They also changed how those A pillars mounted to the mody at the roof. '03+ a-pillar plastic doesn't fit an 02 and older truck. I found that out the hard way. BUT...some '02 and olders did come with a-pillar grabs. I believe they must've been part of an upgrade package or something. I'm unsure on which got it and which didn't. My 01 xlt 4x4 didn't have 'em, but my buddy's 98 xlt 4x4 did."

Just as you stated above...hmmm.  Do we have a picture anywhere that shows how much they stick out?  If it's going to look odd then I don't want to do it.  I thought just from looking at the pictures of the a pillar trim they looked very similar to why mine look like.

EDIT:After more research it appears that the 01's would need the following discontinued parts.

Driver side with handle:
F87Z1003599AAA

Passenger side with handle:
XL5Z1003599AAB

Looks like I'm not going to be able to do this now.  Darn!

Yeah, i had to get parts from another '02, not easy to do at all - to the point where mine will be black and i have a grey interior, but i think there is enough separation between parts that this won't look *too* out of place.

They stick out a fair bit, but you can cut off the stand outs with the clips on them, and manually affix them to the bodywork.

When I added the grab handles to my 2000 Ranger I just went to a pick n' pull JY & got from 2 different Rangers the grab handles that are mounted over the passengers side door on the headliner. I do not know if all Rangers have them mounted there or only 4WD Rangers, but all 3 of the Rangers that I have owned have had them & they were all 4WD's. They are the same size, I also got the screws & screw covers there also.

Yup, that's a good place for those items, though i had to buy new because of the black trim pieces, you only ever find grey interiors :(

That is what I did, I cut the stand outs off & used the interior trim push clips to secure mine.

Nice.

We've got nothing here, west of Portland, but Gresham has a few inches now!

Received the pair of new headlight assys {@ under $40 to the front door for both it was a lot cheaper than to keep re-finishing them every 4 months!} that I ordered.
** Any special tricks I should know about before I change them? **

Also, ordered my #43 Bubba Wallace license frame, plate & 3 5"x6" magnet stickers.

@ShovelheadKevin - i think i know the set you're referring to, i've seen people say the adjusters can be a little long and need cutting off, but hope the rest of the assemblies are good as you're right about the re-finishing part.

Just fitted some 9005 LED's in my 9145(?) fog lights.

They were a little lose feeling in the sockets, so i used the rubber o-ring from the regular bulbs to add on to the LED's (further past the existing one) and they tightened right up, all good.

I picked up a load of mulch this morning. After shoveling it out I pulled my bed mat and washed out the bed. There was some crud that wouldn't rinse out so I pulled out the scrub brush and car wash bucket. One thing led to another and I ended up washing the entire truck.

It is silver and doesn't show dirt so I usually wash it every 3 or 4 months.

Picked up a PML rear diff cover.  Quality is really awesome.  Makes the stock look like a toy.  Adds about .5 quarts of fluid over stock.  I am going to paint this the same color as my valve color of burnt copper, and tape the top of the fins off and leave it the stock aluminum color.  Should be cool I hope.  If weather permits I'll do it tomorrow, if not, sunday when it's nice.

I got my pretty new headlights installed and my mud flaps came in today.....will install tomorrow.
Waiting on my #43 Bubba Wallace license plate , frame & mylars.....also ordered UGA mylars.
I'm gonna have the best looking back glass in NE Ga!  ;)

** Still have upstream O2s and plugs to do.....they're not doing much good for fuel efficiency while sitting in the truck toolbox. **

Finally fabbed/welded up frame mounts for the the stock expo traction's bars . v8 expos has stock traction bars, with of course stock weld mounts to the axle tube . Just took some scrape metal around the shop and some dead time to make it happen finally .  Been wanting to mounting these forever and wish I would of done it sooner . Wheel hop is now non existent  . don't know how to post  multiple pics here's one right before welding . The pic is showing up sideways sorry

Appreciate the offer, the old girl did really good today, got an awesome deal on a wood stove insert. Me and the old man went up to get it.

Kevin, with your close proximity to Road Atlanta I figured you would be more of a high-brow racing fan.;)

I have been known to go up to Commerce and run the Sportster on the 1/8th mile strip.:crazy
