So i *should* have a 19.5 tank, well, i think when i can remember, i'll carry a fuel can with me for a while, try and see realistically how far a tank will carry me. The usual ~gallon left at fuel light is wrong on mine and it's coming on with many gallons left, like, nearly 5.

Same.  Mine comes on at 260 miles which is almost exactly 15 gallons.  I usually drive another 30 miles and fill it

Gah, yeah, that kind of "range" sucks for a 20gal tank, i get nearly 400 from the 350 on the same sized tank.

The regular bed short wheel base is 16.5 Gal. It didn't change for the regular bed SWB in '04. One of the few things I wish I had is a 350 mile range. The furthest I have been able to go has been 290ish miles.

Ordered another new drivers seat/bench/thing from an '06.

I'm guessing a shop to un-bend and weld/repair the old seat back frame would be nearly, if not the same as buying this other seat.

Maxx, here is the link to the tail gate handle.
https://www.amazon.com/Tailgate-Replacement-1993-2003-1987-198-T1A-F87Z-9943400-AAF/dp/B01AXF2O6O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518223694&sr=8-1&keywords=2000+ranger+tailgate+handle

Tsquare, The handle was originally black, I am going to leave it black.

Oh, that's alright, interesting it's a smooth finish to paint your own colour. I wonder if there are door handles like that, not metal though.

Pulled the ranger in.  Going to be doing chassis saver paint on the frame and on the bottom of the bed over the weekend.  Changing fuel filler neck.
Did injectors and replacing valve cover gasket.  I forgot to take pictures of the valve cover but I cleaned that up and will paint it a color as well... not sure which color yet.  Maybe wrinkle red?  I broke my EGR tube so that's on order.  Probably won't get done with it till after next week.

It's how funny it looks without the bed on it - otherwise, it looks identical to mine :)

It's funny, i was going to mention that light as i'd just seen it 'highlighted' on an auto detailing channel.

Today i took a drive to a regular junk yard, they had what seemed to be the same '06 grey vinyl seat that i picked up a few weeks back.

I was going to repair the seat back frame on mine as the head is bent forward, but the more i thought about it, the more i realised the price a place would charge to fix it, would likely be the same price this seat cost me.

Weirdly, despite both being 2006 seats in grey vinyl, the seat base and back have a pattern in them, so it's different to my seat which is the same look material all over - still, it's got a nick in it, whereas mine doesn't, but mine is more generally worn....

Anyway, i also measured the holes in the A-pillars, 7mm, so i'm going to order the rivnuts to affix my grab handles with.

Have had an annoying brake squeal in the mornings since front rotor and pad change so I removed both sets and applied caliper grease to all the areas of metal to metal contact. Never had to do this in the past but I have learned my lesson and will always use caliper grease in the future.
While I was in the garage I also went looking for a small coolant leak that I have noticed over the past few weeks. Discovered a pinhole leak in the front upper section of the coolant recovery tank. I used plastic epoxy this morning and will let cure and see if it holds before ordering a new tank.
