 I looked again.  My #19 fuse is 25 amp and it controls PCM power diode, Ignition, PATS.  I guess that's because my truck is a 2003 as opposed to your 2004.  Ford changed a LOT of electrical stuff in 2004.  Still, good stuff to know!

 I unbolted the bed and pulled it back enough to get to the fuel pump,the pump went bad on me. I also bought a bed bolt hardware kit,1 bolt broke off a year ago when I put on a new tank filler hose but I've got 2 more about ready to break so I figured I'd better change them all.I ordered the pump online but it should be here before the week's out.

That's what I'm going to do with mine too. The thing I don't like about the new ones are they're allen head instead of torx like the old ones were.

 Nothing happening with the Ranger this week except for buying sandpaper and a better air filter. I put in 50 hours on my 35 hour a week max job.  I am tired.

I do have an appointment to see a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer that has 125k miles, V8, AWD, and every other option available for that year model tomorrow morning.  If this works out the 04 2wd Ranger will be on the market and I will be looking for an extended cab 4x4 preferably with 4:10 LS gears that is about 20 years old.

 For the last couple of days I have had a squeak  under or behind the cab and a slapping sound like a zip tie was tied to the drive-shaft along with a vibration at low speed.  I had to do a 50 yard strait line back-up  today and I pushed it a bit I heard what sounded like metal snapping. Nothing fell out and everything looks good on the bottom side. Universals are good and I have no fluid leeks anywhere on the transmission and rear axle. The vibration is now gone but the squeaking is worse upon acceleration and more pronounced accelerating in a curve.  
I am at a loss on where to look next. I am waiting for something to fail at this point to see what it is.

 Are you sure the U-joints are good?  Based on your description, the almost exactly matches what mine sounded like when my U-joints were failing.  Specially accelerating on a curve or around a corner.

 That was my thoughts also but they are tight in their cradles. The vibration is back when applying power and it fades above 40 and is gone by 55. With just under 140k on the original universals it would be a good idea to replace them.

I guess it is time for a RockAuto order.  I also have some parts I need to order for the Stingray.

Edit: Parts ordered w/ 5% discount code. I got the Ranger universals and hardware kits. For the Stingray a master cylinder rebuild kit, and 4 caliper rebuild kits. I decided over Christmas it was time to finish the restoration of the Stingray and get the old girl back on the road.  Brakes first and then to go through the fuel system and then to finish the engine upgrade. The Stingray has been in storage twice for just over a total of 40 years. It is a 74 convertible with just over 47K miles.

 Finished the universal replacement on the driveshaft. There was thread locker on the rear flange bolts that took some heat to be able to loosen them up.

The good: it now runs without the vibration and squeak.  

The bad: My 5 & 1/2 inch bench vice that would open 8" split. I have used it as a press replacing a dozen universals over the years. It dated back to the 60's and was used on the farm for 25 years. When it broke it mashed 2 of my fingers on the left hand. One split open and the other broken. I  set it and put on a splint but the other took 2 stiches.  Dr. Bill was impressed with my improv splint and setting of my finger.

The good: I now have a 12 ton press. I had to press out two of the joints and press them back in. They were very tight. And yes I did hit them with a wire brush on the dremel. 

More Bad: I am allergic to opioids and synthetic opioids so Ibuprofen 800 is the strongest anti-pain drug I can tolerate (besides Scotch). My left hand is still throbbing in pain.

I did price out a replacement bench vice. I am looking at $350 for the closest replacement that will open only 5.5". Nobody makes a vice that opens more than 6" for less than a grand. I am going to hit a few flea markets and keep an eye on craigslist for a less expensive replacement.

 Jesus christ dude, that is brutal!  I'm glad it is fixed though.  For a lot of stuff like that I have always been able to use either my own work stuff, or my sons.  Neither of us are mechanics, well I kind of am, but on multi-million dollar vacuum chambers and he is a professional welder.

I have been looking for a vise for a while also. Looks like they have become collectors items in my area, the older and more pitted they are the more money they bring. I don't want a museum I want a vise without the price of the museum.

It was Rye last night. If I have Scotch two days in a row it does something to my taste buds and nothing but Thai Spicy taste right.

I visited the Flea market that is a half hour up the interstate yesterday, nothing "old" in the way of vices. I found a Wilton 5 & 1/2 there for $235. I did a quick check and the same model is on sale at Northern Tool for $199 and I have a $20 off coupon. There was also a couple of cheep looking chineseum vices in the $50-75 range. One was the Harbor Freight brand vice and $7 cheaper than the store price. The best deal I have found is Home Depot. A Yost 8" jaw that opens 8" in high Visibility yellow for $148 before my 10% military discount. 

It will be the end of next month before I buy a vice. My discretionary cash fund is overdrawn right now.

 I got the splint off today. The stiches dissolved over the past week.  I can't quite make a fist yet. Everything is a bit stiff. The busted open skin is a scab that is almost gone. Interesting scar. I have some therapy exercises that I am supposed to do for the next month or so. 

I will be changing the spark plugs in the next few days. I hope I don't brake an arm...

It's a Torsen LSD ford the FRONT Dana 35 SLA.
Got it new directly from Jtekt Torsen.
They are still making them but they go so fast they don't even update the website as in stock anymore.
I got the very last one from the latest batch but the next one should be ready around late spring apparently.
