Been a while since I checked in over here, I took some time this weekend and gave the ole girl some TLC. New calipers, rotors, pads and inner and outer tierod ends on both front corners. I must say despite the rusty state of the rest of the truck, the front end went pretty easy!

Pic in process, I had to grab an inner tierod tool and the stores were all closed by the time I got to them.

My brake bleeding buddy.
While I had the truck in the air I decided to crank the T-bars the rest of the way up since I'll need an alignment anyways. Then I decided to look at the rear and found this...

The passenger side is in better shape but still not pretty.

Any helpful resources for replacing the shackles and hangers would be great guys.

Those new rotors and calipers look real nice!  The rear shackle, not so much.  There have been a few guys on here that have replaced the shackles.  I am going to do mine after all this COVIDiocy is over.  I don't think there is anything special a guy needs to know.  Plenty of PB Blaster and an impact wrench would be advisable.

Looks good!  I'm thinking that will make your truck ride and handle a bit better, too!

Well. It has begun. Pulled the 8.8 axle out of the Explorer donor. Took the leafs off and the sway bars.

Gonna strip it down, paint it, rebuild the diff and put the new gears once those are here. Then some brake lines and rotors and pads. And it should be all good after that. I am super excited!!

With 5.13, I should be able to do a burnout. Gonna put the old
Explorer tires on it and do a burnout once everything is in. 😉😉 cannot waiiitttt!!

My new beefy upper arms came in the mail!! These are super nice! They are quite heavy! Balljoints are greasable ones and I plan on powdercoating these. They look longer (from where they mount to balljoint) than the ones I bought from Oreillys 7 months ago. So hopefully they are somewhat extended to help the wear of the balljoints.

I will do a write-up of them when I get them installed. :)

Looks beefy indeed.
These don't look like the BTF fab ones.
Do you mind sharing the name of the company that made these?

So. I actually found this company on eBay. Brand is Doetsch. They are meant for lifted Rangers from what I know. Says 2-3" 2wd.
BTF ones were def on the list, but at the end of the day, I would've had to drill for uniballs and I did not have the $600 for em. Couldn't see spending half of a mid travel kit on it. Plus, built to order so 2-4 weeks to even get built. Figured I would give these a shot!

If I told y'all how old I turned. You might faint. I might've mentioned it once before.
But I turned 19 yesterday.
My dad says I'm a lot different than most 19 year old girls. Hahaha

I believe your dad is correct!  I have two daughters from my first marriage (they both are old enough to be YOUR mother).  I remember when they were 19... their interests were completely different from yours. :-)

Well. The Danger Ranger 5.0 has finally begun.

Fed-Ex just notified me that my gear kit was delivered to the house, and my trac bars will be delivered tomorrow. My new mirrors should be here Monday.

I am absolutely ecstatic. :-)

I think I might cry (happy cry) because I have wanted to build this truck up since my dad had it. Oh the fun has only begun my dudes

Took an hour out in the garage yesterday and got  the driver rear shackle hanger off. First I had to unstick the spring from the hanger:

Then I pulled the back bumper and got to grinding and chisling until this big chunk of rust hit the floor:

Still need to drive the rest of the rivits out and burn the bushing out of the spring eye before that side is done but this is how it looks right now:

I'm thinking about cutting the passenger side shackle in half tonight which will let me lower the whole axle pproviding more room to remove the other hanger and both spring eye bushings.

you know I got lucky and was able to back the 2 nuts off on the back of the hanger without too much fuss. I can say that pulling the 4 bolts and removing the bumper is worth the time an energy spent. I left my hitch on so 2 of the bumper bolts had to be removed with a wrench and hammer but still worth the extra visibility for sure! I'll let you know if I'm still saying that when I try to reinstall the bumper with the hitch still on though  :fp

Did you do this before or did the PO replace those? This is the second time around since they are not born with bolts. Looks like he might have gone cheap usually by the time the shackles toast the second time the frame is toast too and yours looks normal.
