It's been a while since I've been on, apologies everyone. For everyone who doesn't know, me and my girlfriend are having a baby and things have been hectic trying to a) find her a car with a backseat for the car seat b) find a bigger house and c) making sure we have everything we think we'll need. But, I haven't neglected my truck. I've been accumulating funny/cool stickers over the past few months and I put them on a while ago, a couple may be offensive but I think they're hilarious. I've already caught some people reading and laughing at them and taking pictures in my rear view. Anyways, here's a picture of them lol.

Also took this picture of the trim on the inside of the door, I think it looks pretty sweet

Other than that, no other mods at the moment. Trying to save up money (spent what little savings I had on diapers, wipes, car seat and baby bed, with some clothes) to get her a car and after that, I'll try to start some progress on my vision of the dream truck.

May I suggest a V8 explorer for the wife. Then you have a V8 swap in the que. When the ranger or explorer wares out you have a doner V8.

Love the sticker!!!

Started the mod for the Tweeter Mounting on the Windshield/Door pillars.
Took single Gauge Pods, one left and one right hand drive, cut them down some and then heated and shaped them to fit the Windshield/Door Pillar, close to the dash, making the speaker face inward some.

Going to drill some holes to mount the Pods tomorrow, and then try to mount the speakers in the Pods, or vice-versa, we will see.

Found a guy to do the complete install of the new Audio System, fair price, will make an install appointment once I get the Sub Woofer in the mail.

I SHOULD run mine through the car wash... but it is supposed to rain Monday and Tuesday, so that would be wasted effort.

Put two new snow tires on my 2003. Adjusted the rear brakes and put a self drilling screw to hold the front bumper plastics to the metal bumper since I always seem to pop it off the plastic clips lol

Yesterday..., "all my troubles seemed so far away..., sorry wrong thread.
I changed my mind on the method of mounting of the Tweeters, from the Gauge Pods on the Windshield Pillars to What came in the box type Pods, smaller, well contained units.  After cutting the Gauge Pods and heating and forming them to the Ranger Pillars, I didn't like what they looked like.   The fit wasn't bad but not what I was looking for.    I mounted the Pods that came with the speakers and Wham-Bam, that's it, all done, just need to run some wire.

Next for the audio is the Sub Box, cut the back off, notch at the top edge, put a back cover on it, should work ok.  I think I will have approximately 0.55 cubic feet of air space and then there is always that fiber stuff.  the sub calls for a minimum of 0.35.

My rear exhaust hanger fell off. Took it to the front hoist, they have some sort of ears mounted for removing large cabs on pickups. So I took it back to the big hoist and promptly got stuck between the ramps because they spread it out for a huge truck and I didn't measure first. I had to go in to 4W low to crawl out of the pit.

Pipe still hanging.

Just cut down my Sub Enclosure to fit centered behind the seats and have room for the seat movement backward.
I am left with an enclosure of approximately 0.70cu. ft., reduced the volume of the enclosure by 0.15 cu. ft., the sub itself only needs 0.35 - 0.68, I am left with an enclosure on the larger size but will try it out first, I don't think 0.02 cu. ft. will change anything.

Glued it up and waiting for it to dry; tomorrow I will see how bad I did,  reupholster with a new felt I had handing around, and decide what to do next.

Could it be the Third Brake Light and then the water is running down the right side of the window ?

I have never seen the rear window leak, the Third Brake Light Gasket... Yup !

Pull the panels on the rear of the cab and run some water over the rear of the cab and see where it is coming from.

I'll have dig into the leak. It's maybe 2 inches from where the window goes vertical

Brake light. Notorious problem. When you take it off to put new lights in it the only way to get it to seal up is with a new gasket or some silicone. Silicone works wonders but makes it difficult to remove the light the next time.

Never can tell until you take the panels off and see where the water is actually coming from.

Let's hope it is the third Brake Light, easier to fix.

The reworked Sub Enclosure worked out, must have measured twice, or was that three times... cut once.
Purchased a new Table Saw a while back, it has more than paid for itself, and again when I just used it to cut the Sub Enclosure down.
Tweeters are mounted in place, the Enclosure is in place. The Radio Bezel is removed and the Power Ports and 4x switch had enough wire to extend then out the bottom of the dash.
Amazed how much dirt gets in behind that area, vac'd it up, wiped it down.
Just waiting for the New Sub to get here and I will send the truck and the Audio Parts to the Shop; can't wait for the Apple Car Play... Waze on a large screen.

I might do the Battery Terminals tomorrow, have them done before the Audio System Electrics get put in place.
The Audio Shop I am using, also will swap all of the Inner Electrics from my 2002 Door to the 2003 Cab, not this time but I can schedule another time, he said he could use theHow-To write up from whichever Ranger it is on.  I just need to print out the How-To.   Power Windows, '06 Mirrors, Mirror Directionals... can't wait.

It is about time, I've had the Mirrors for a while now.
I had a problem with the Glass removal, kind-of stopped the process.
I need to figure out how to get the glass out, thinking some heat and then pull.

The Tail Lights, mine are Aftermarket LED Units with the High Backup Lights, which have been converted to Directionals.
I like the idea of the directionals being the highest light on the back end of the truck or any vehicle for that matter.
I also connected the Bed Lights to the Directional Circuit, somewhere down the road I have bed lights to put in too.

Here are three quick pictures of the Audio System Start, didn't take many pictures, in my Thread, (https://ford-rangers.com/forum45/875.html)
The Enclosure, Notch cut, back cut, glued together.

Tweeters as they now set; Pioneer Pods.

No name box from Amazon, $28.00, see my Build Thread, Then, In the Middle, and the Rest of the Story.

I didn't take before and after pictures or any pictures during the mod cycle, sorry.  I was doing it and that was a biggy for me.

The shape was the same except it was deeper and the notch on the top wasn't there, maybe I could find a picture form Amazon.

Stock Photo from Amazon:

I needed it smaller to fit behind the seats on a Standard 2-dr Cab, and still retain some Seat rearward movement, at least enough for the wife to feel comfortable and my 6'2" frame to fit.

I cut the notch first, then the rest of the back panel was cut off, 1.5" in from the back, using a table saw.

Cleaned up the panel and glued the panel back in place, only the box was thinner.

I took the part that was cut for the notch and cleaned it up, flipped it and glued it back in the same place except flipped.

A couple of hitches hit me but my fault and I think I can correct for them, the box fits tight, a little too tight but should work.

I had a problem with the Glass removal, kind-of stopped the process.
I need to figure out how to get the glass out, thinking some heat and then pull.

I heard fishing line being used to remove glass. Works good for emblems as well

How do you use Fishing Line in the mirror... I can see how would work on an emblem but inside of the mirror ?

I think there is a How-To on one of the Ranger Site.
