Divorce? When did this all come about? I remember you posting family pics and you all looked pretty happy.  But... been there, done that myself and I know that the outside world often isn't aware of the turmoil in your life.  I'm sorry things are going that direction for you... hang in there.

It's all good.  Life happens.
My buddy needed a roommate.  So I still have a massive shop.  And it's just two car guys living together.

Worst part is you have young kids. They don't have a say in the matter but they feel it just the same. Hopefully, you will be able to maintain good visitation rights.

Honestly the divorce has been painless.  I have the kids all the time.  Other than losing my shop I kept everything else.  Even my navy pension.

You got lucky with that one.

I have a Marine buddy that his wife served him with papers the day he retired. She got the house, 4 months of child support (the youngest was 18 and 4 months from graduating HS), and half of his pension.

You had a great shop, hate it that you lost that. However, glad to hear you have your kids!

Shops come and go, its ALL about the kids, they matter the most, everything else matters not, after almost losing my son at 7 weeks old, life has new meaning, its all about the kids man......

I went underneath of it, except no longer on a creeper

She can still go up another 18" or so..........just in the testing/adjustment phases

Over sized drain plug or better yet take a tap the next size up to re-cut threads. Load it up with grease and after every half turn pull it out to clean off the metal and grease and load it back up. Once tapped put a Fumoto's engine oil drain valve and be done with using a wrench to drain your oil.

I'm not against a valve I'm just worried about knocking it lose. My truck is lowered like 5 inches and I do “take it in the woods” and bottom out all the time.
Believe me, the torque wrench comes out for now on when changing my oil!

I've never stripped an oil drain plug. However, I have had to deal MANY of them back in the day when I was a mechanic. I don't miss having to mess with them.

@Jamie: Lovin' the lift! :)

Today I played with a pet project that is going to take some time. While out at the U-Pull the other day, I snagged the floor shifter out of a 2008 Ford Escape Limited. I got everything; the shifter, the lockouts, OD button, trim panel, console top and cable. I knew it was way too tall for my application, but after studying it, I was sure I could make this work. While there, I also grabbed an Explorer Sport console top... you know, those ugly, one-piece things.

So, after taking a bunch of measurements in my console, out came the sawzall!

Now it is substantially shorter than what it was. I will have to fabricate a mounting base of sorts, but that will be fairly simple. I did some test fitting in the truck and it is pretty close... may have to raise it up slightly, but that is what I wanted. I then started hacking up the Expo Sport console top to accommodate the shifter and after an hour of sawing and trimming with the sabre saw, I was able to determine how it would look in the truck. Obviously, there will be a LOT of trimming, fitting, fiberglass and paint before it will be worthy of residing in my truck.  Sorry, I forgot to take a pick while it was in my truck. I will get one later and post it but be warned: I have hacked and carved on this console top and there has been NO clean up  on it yet, so this console top is pretty ugly at the moment! Notice in the pics above, the selector handle is black. Research and eBay pics reveal that there is a chrome version that looks a lot like the one in my wifes Lincoln MKx. Yep, the search is on!

Fixed my stripped drain pan-over sized plug for the win! So happy to have the truck back, my 4.0 to 5.0 truck is a pig when it comes to gas mileage (17mpg) which isnt -📫horrible but I'm used to 28/30 in my 2.3 truck lol

Took the Ranger out on Sunday for a little fun after all the rain Florida has gotten. Got it dirty. Anyone of you lovely guys want to come give it a good scrubbing? I will provide pressure washer, foam cannon, and all that jazz hahaha.

I'll probably make the boyfriend do it. Bribe him with new gun ammo or something.

Happy New Year!

Basically. Or maybe whiskey money. Who knows. I've convinced him to stay with me this long. Bought him a new distributor, oil pickup, and water pump for his 5.0 motor not too long ago.

I basically just buy what I would like (minus whiskey. I'm a fruity drink kinda gal)
And it works perfect! Joy of being a car couple.

I'm thinking I should drink less alcohol. I'm only on my second scotch and when I looked at that picture, I thought: "wow, that is the strangest looking sub-woofer ever. Oh, wait... that's a brake caliper!" OMG!

Wait... does that say Cadillac?
