Spent 3 hours doing upper control arms, tie rod ends, and plugs.

Now I need an alignment

I used the tailgate and bed as a workbench. I am doing some home maintenance and the height of my compound miter saw on the tailgate matches the height of my plastic fold up sawhorses.

Adjusted the rear brakes, checked tire pressures, & topped off all the fluids in preparation for our upcoming weekend trip to Maine.

I took it back.  He blamed it on a bad lower ball joint.  I pointed out they are brand new.  I told them to get it off the rack and I left.

I would have had fun with that. My reply would be, "do you have a mechanic here that knows how to work the the alignment machine instead of the parts changer that is clueless that there are new ball joints all around. A simple look at the new boots should have been a clue."

🤣😁 took the words right out my mouth brotha . And that's   on the alignment. 🤦🏻‍♂️ finding good help nowadays . Half the stuff that rolls through the shop I'm like how's they even let that leave the last shop. At the end of the day I look at it as someone's life is now in my hands after touching the ride . I gotta sleep at night and shady work doesn't help that ,specially if it comes back . I pride myself on that and not havin come backs . Most now that are Workin in this field just don't care anymore which is sad and scary

Finally got the new headlight housings installed and 12 years of horrible wiring fixed!

This is the pile of garbage connections I had hiding behind the factory housings...

This is how not to wire in a blinker mod and led resistors...

All connections are now made with soldered joints and the turn signals are back to standard bulbs just to add a little color.

I stay away from the Tail Gate as a Work Bench, maybe just to set things on but no cutting anything; you should see my Saw Horses, all cut up from not watching what I am cutting.  I got a pair of the plastic saw horses got a couple of cut in those too... man gotta think before cutting !

It would be kind of hard to cut my tailgate with one of these:

True enough but I was thinking one of these:

So the tailgate is the platform for a Cut-Off type saw, that works !

Finally wrapped up my winter projects.  Finished them off with a good wash, clay bar, wax, and detailing.  It feels good to have her back together.

I finally got around to adding my XM radio to my Ranger. I used a Pro-Fit bracket that bolts under the dash face plate.

https://www.pro-fit-intl.com/shop

I use these ancient Delphi XM receivers. I have two receivers and four cars... and a cradle for my garage sound system. I can buy these cheap on eBay, usually under $10 and I move them from car to car to garage as needed. I even had one car where it just feed into a pre-amp and then to an amplifier.

While I was at it, I added a USB charging port to the dash. Mrs. Big John always seems to have a dead phone when she is in the car.

Well I got the filler hose out of the '94,talk about a PITA!!! It's got a small rubber hose going through the inside of a bigger rubber hose :'(. The whole assembly is $135 :O!! Just to replace the bigger hose is $66 and I'd have to pull out the small hose and somehow slide it back through the new bigger hose :O. Since I've only got a $25 gift card for Advance Auto it'll have to wait until August 3rd when I get paid again :(. Good thing I have the F150.
