Yeah, my Monroe's were dead long before time too, i can recommend the KYB gas-a-justs as a cheaper alternative to the Bilsteins though.

I'm planning on trying to loosen up my shift motor by turning it on and off several times to see if it helps any with it not wanting to come out of 4x4.

Tried to get some work done on the truck after having her sitting the same way for too long. Long story short the window is no longer with us.

Luckily I just got a complete 2009 door in a trade that was just collecting dust until now!

I washed it inside and out, ran a new power wire and and fuse to my amps, and had the old Viper alarm/remote start taken out and a new Compustar  alarm/remote start installed.

I was putting it back in (was in the process of adding power doors) and I guess I tightened a bolt too much. Luckily it had tint on it so it is mostly a solid chunk still.

Sorry to hear about the window !
You mentioned Power Doors, do you have any more info on the Power Doors.
I am collecting data on that subject, got a pair of 2002 Door, all power, and want to switch things over !
Any info or help would be appreciated !

Thx / Ltr

Once you know what you're doing (that was the hard part for me, I tried to rush it) and are careful about rivet removal, everything just bolts right in. Each door you'll need 6 1/4-20 bolts 3/8 to 1 inch long to hold everything in place (I got all 1" long and cut them down to size).

I love how it looks, unfortunately I like having a window that doesn't throw shards of glass at you even more.

Did you spray any Rust Buster (RB) on the mechanism under the truck ?
Not saying it will work but maybe some of the RB will work it way in and loosen things up.

Spray wait a day, spray again, work the IN/OUT Knob... !

I just dropped off the Ranger to the local Tire & Wheel for a front end alignment. Once that is accomplished the upper/lower control arm job will be complete.

It was nice not hearing that squeak when I backed out of the driveway.

No I just turned it on and off several times and listened for the click. Then pulled it in and out of the garage a few times turned it on when I backed out and off when I drove in. When I got done I lifted all 4 tires off the ground, started it and put it in gear, both drive and reverse and checked if the front wheels would spin but only the back ones were turning. After I get done with some other projects but hopefully before next winter,I'm planning on putting on manual lockers so it won't matter as much. If I don't get it done it's no biggie though since the automatic ones still work good,I'll just have to make sure it actually comes out of 4x4.

If your TC is locked in then your rear wheels will be turning at a lower gear ratio and turning slower.  4-H maybe not be a big problem but if you are in 4-L you will notice the rpm will be up and the truck will be just moving.
Also it will be burning more gas !

You need to get the TC working properly so you will be in 2x-H !

Got the new Headlights in the Mail.
Now to get the Projectors and add-ons, OR find a shop to do a Retro to Projectors.

Any suggestions ?

I understand all that and that's what I was saying I did to make sure it was in 2x-H. In other words,it's working fine right now,I just need to keep it working that way.

TheRetrofitSource.com or Lightwerkz.net are probably the 2 biggest in the US. Labor runs $800-900. If you're on Facebook, there is a group, Headlight Junkies, run by TRS. It has a list of reputable retrofitters.

My daughter lives in Memphis. It is a strange town as you can be in an upscale neighborhood and 2 blocks latter it looks like the getto.

Breakfast at Bryant's or Brother Juniper's (lunch is good here also).  For BBQ it is the Commissary in Germantown for ribs or Central for a sandwich.  For fried chicken it's Gus's World Famous or Elwood's Shack. Other great places to eat are McEwen's On Monroe, Itta Bena, Soul Fish Cafe or Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken.

Lots of good eats. There are not any good Asian restaurants but the variety of everything else is top notch.

Got some email from Ebay re a part i was looking at ages ago, but cost too much.

It was for a radiator adaptor for a temp sensor with the 3/8th NPT fitting, price had dropped so i just ordered it.

Now if only i wasn't crazy busy trying to move house before the baby comes, then i might have some time to do something on the truck!!!! :(

Washed mine today. I have some water spots that I can't get rid of. I think I'll need to clay bar it to get rid of them.

I'm afraid to use a buffer and get the swirls that are common in black vehicles.
