I have a '13 Fusion SE. I got the recall notice as well. This car is averaging a recall every 6 months since I got it. I got it through military sales and the dealership I picked it up from took an extra day on the delivery because of 6 required recalls.

BTW: I ignored the last 2 recalls. One was for seat belts and the other was for door locks. I guess I will take it in mid January and get it up to date.

I keep getting notices for my '08 Mustang, but it says Ford doesn't have the parts in yet.

I have yet to receive anything for my '11 Ranger Air Bags.

I also have an airbag recall on my '13 Mazda CX-5. The notice said something about potential for sharp metal fragments during deployment or something. That's comforting. Where I live now though, there's no Mazda dealership. I'd have to drive about 2.5 hrs away to get it done.

Government mandates manufacturers to implement expensive accessories thinking we have no idea how to take care of ourselves so of course they make cars go from $2500 to $35000 in the last 50 years.

Because we are humans.

Then they neglect to check on the humans making these devices which are now killing us.

The humans making the devices that are now killing us can't make the replacements fast enough to keep from killing more of us. Some of the replacements are killing us.

Future

The new systems replacing the old systems that were killing us will be over regulated and so much money will be spent on research and development because of the negligence of the original designers that they will raise the price of the common car to the $50,000 range, more than I paid for my first house.

Just wait to see the mess when cars start driving for you.

^^^^ THIS.  As a society, we need to stop this BS and make it every man for himself.  Also need to do away with asinine warning labels such as "Caution: Hot Contents".  If you are a coffee drinker, you KNOW the stuff is brewed with BOILING HOT WATER.  If you dump it in your lap, it's YOUR fault, not the company that sold it.

Just FYI: my air bags are non-functional. My 2004 steering wheel upgrade falls under the original recall, but Ford wouldn't replace because it is installed on my 2003 Ranger, not the original vehicle (I have the VIN number from the salvaged vehicle).  Then I installed my Mountaineer leather seats, which aren't plug compatible with the trucks air bag harness so I haven't gotten them rewired.  It will take somebody smarter than me to figure out how to do that, though.

You can buy something as simple as an electric razor.

In the owners manual the first 3 pages are cautions and warnings. I know not to submerge my electric razor in my bath water while it is plugged in thank you.

I work around automatic machines at work. Our latest, a Japanese German hybrid called a DMG has so many safety features it is almost impossible to use. If you are indicating a part in you can only jog at a snails pace with the doors open and you have to press 2 buttons at the same time. Close the door and you can't see the indicator. So it takes an hour to set up something I can do on other machines in like 3 to 10 minutes.

Trial lawyers in bed with snowflakes made this happen.

Brother can I relate!
The last press I ran before I retired was a Heidelberg QM-46 2/color press that came from Germany.
I swear, they put enough idiot switches & safeties on the damn thing to keep toddlers safe!  If I had a guard open I could only jog for like 2 seconds and then re-hit the button....for another 2 sec bump.
For those un-knowledgeable of printing, basically that means itmakes for a looonnggg time to clean a plate/ blanket or roller and can really cut into production time.

That is a ridiculous request. Obviously, somebody didn't think that one through.

The solution is that they need to provide rental vehicles.

And we know, "Well that ain't happening"!

If it makes anyone feel better...

Ram to Recall More Than 220,000

"Ram will voluntarily recall about 181,000 trucks in the U.S. (as well as 42,000 trucks in Canada, 4,000 trucks in Mexico, and 1,400 trucks elsewhere) for a potential issue with the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) feature. Affected are 2017-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups; 2017-2018 Ram 3500, 4500, and 5500 chassis cabs; and a small number of 2017-2018 Ram 1500 pickups."

Nope, I tried Dodge back in '93. I had a 3/4 ton Diesel truck that had a solid drivetrain but everything else fell apart when it hit 4 years old. I also got the wife a '94 Caravan that had the sliding door fall off of it. I got rid of both of those vehicles before they had 50k on them. I usually put 100-200k on a vehicle before I get rid of it.

I just received another recall for my '13 Fusion. I got it caught up last May and this is the third recall I have gotten since then. It will be gone before it hits 50K.

Keep in mind, not all recall are bad things, sometimes they are revised items to prevent a possible issue whether to stifle warranty issues or claims. In some cases, in the sense of the airbags, that' a different kind of recall - one related to safety and beyond the course of doing good business, proper business to make something right. It is a huge CYA campaign at that point.

Seems a bit odd they're replacing the replacements with them being so recent.

Honestly, i would just roll by the dealership and have them check the actual airbag numbers, only takes them 5 minutes to pop the wheel cover off - i would bet they check out ok and you're just getting a VIN flag for the originals.

While I can understand some frustration, I don' understand all the hostility I read in these threads.. not just this one but several others across a few forums.

- I mean they were honest enough to let you know there' an issue

- They're not charging you for the parts or labor

- If nothing else if you have a good relationship with your local dealer and they still are remaining honest, they may if given the time find something else to be of concern with

- among the fact they could have had the same attitudes and dissent to just say   it, let em figure it out the hard way when they crash [shrug]

And in my time working for a dealer of all manufacturer plates. Never once have I actually witnessed their sole goal to waste your time and not provide transportation back and forth between home or work place or not have a drop box to drop off and pick up your vehicle for convenience of your own schedules..

So many people so addictive to just being irritated just to be irritated any more.
