Hauled the payload capacity and then some (including a 500 lb motorcycle (of my namesake)) 750 miles over 14 hours yesterday. I was gritting my teeth the whole time over my still not changed clutch slave and 15 year old cooling tee (those with duratecs will understand).

Piece of   made it the whole way without issue! Fluff post but what the hell its a pretty new forum. It still amazes me what a little 4-banger pickup can do- drove a Miata and motorcycles prior so I'm not used to being able to carry stuff.

Wasn't very fun taking off from a stop given me having to slip the clutch more than I like.

Any of you haul too much   for too far a distance lately?

They are amazing, I pulled a u-haul trailer stuffed to the gills WITH A BUMPER HITCH from SC to michigan through the mountains. I had to backshift to 3rd at times and only go like 40 but I made it and didn't burn anything. That one was a 4 cyl also, like back in 2003. Don't remember the year of the ranger it was but it was single cab short bed silver with red interior LOL.

Not lately, but 14 years ago when my Wife & I moved from northern NJ to western NY state with my prior 2000 Ranger 4x4 I towed a mid sized enclosed trailer loaded from a ball on the bumper mount. I towed it from north western NJ (Warren county) to western NY state just south of Rochester, NY with out missing a beat. It was also a 4.0 & auto.

Fluff post? I don't agree.  Anytime a member has a story about how his Ranger went the extra mile (no pun intended)... well, that's not fluff!  Glad to hear your truck took good care of you! :)

Impressive for a 4 banger. That being said, might want to give it a good looking over after that. *Toasts*

Unfortunately the heads were cracked & I did not have the time to repair it since we were getting ready to move back to NJ & I had to let it go. That is the only pic of it that I have of that Ranger, I love that blue. Posting the pic is not meant as a tease.
