dealing with a 98 Ranger 3.0 fuel pump
the fuel level gauge does not work
Traced it back to a fault in the fuel pump wiring harness on top of the tank
There are two missing circuit boards? one is installed on the black/orange wire, one is on the yellow wire
mine are broken missing/ FUBAR
I have searched until I believe I am the only one to ever ask this question
WHAT THE HECK IS THIS THING?

Anti slosh module is in the instrument cluster
Nothing shown on wiring diagrams in this location

I don't want to buy an aftermarket sender if I don't have to would rather know what the heck I'm looking at.
Anyone know?

I'm not the one to be telling 410Customs what a part on a RBV is but I will take a guess... could it be a Rollover Switch location, where the switch was removed ?
The pieces on the ends of the wires, are they plastic, sort of like "broken off pieces" ?

Schematics time, yellow wire ????

the inertia switch is located under the glove box on all of these trucks
anti slosh is in the instrument cluster
You have to remove the conduit from the factory wires to expose these parts
It was a small circuit board apparently? at least that's what the broken plastic bits look like they were once attached to
What is a FFV?
oh flex fuel
I have no idea if a 98 ranger 3.0 is flex fuel? HELP! LOL

Flex Fuel Vehicle, green leaf on the tailgate. I can't find anything either but I have another weird valve further up the circuit for the flex fuel, was thinking that might be another part in the FFV circuitry.

Don't you have another one laying around with the bed off LOL. I'm about ready to go out and take mine off if you don't know about this it is a mystery.

have one in the V8 truck, with the body lift I can see in there but I do not want to cut apart the wiring loom unless I have to!
I went to the junk yard searching for answers but no 98-99 trucks without the bed I was by myself without hank (the dewalt impact) so I could not remove and lift beds to look see.
I will go back with neighbor and take hank....

What color are the wire, I see Yellow in your picture but I don't see Yellow in the schematics ?
There is an OG/YEL, but it goes to a connector and there is another OR/YEL that goes straight through the schematics !

Under further review, it has 5 wires
I believe it used to look like this

Black / orange tracer going in from truck and out to fuel level sender
Yellow / white tracer going in " " and out " " " "
red wire going in from truck

Jamie,
How is this going ?
Not that I know how to search the Web but I have found nothing, and a member on another site, hasn't put his finger on it either.
He suggested a second fuel tank connection or the Roll Over Switch, as I call it !
Does the Plastic Pieces look like they were able to slide in a slot, maybe make a connection, or just a connecting point for these wires.
I saw in the schematic how some of the wires go in and out, so it does seem like a continuation of the wire more than a connection at the tank.

Let us know where this goes, interesting !

yews I have found nothing about it online which is why I posted this
It has to have something to do with anti slosh, it is wired on the float sender wires, not the fuel pump power
It is a small circuit board with just the 5 wires on it
headed to the junk yards tomorrow to try and find one of these and some nice seats for the V6 truck
will keep you posted!
It does have one red wire that leads into it and terminates, so that red wire should be on schematics???? I dont have a 98 Ranger specific book.....yet

I didn't send a link, not sure how it got there.

I will try again posting to this site.

The info came from another site maybe that is the problem.

All it was is the 1998 schematic which includes the fuel pump, and the electrics that go with it !

Might be just as easy for you to picket up form the web, but I will try again !

Go to other site - copy the whole address bar at the top of your browser and paste it into the 'insert a link' button dialogue in the editor - add a short description and click on 'insert'

I really appreciate all your efforts!
Last few days have been nuts around here, starting to settle down a little
I found a couple of 98 trucks at the junk yard, i cut off the fuel pump sender wires, open them up and nothing!!!
So it was either exclusive to the 3.0
OR
This was an aftermarket sender to begin with?

I don't think so I thought I remember seeing Ford stamped on it
The red wire will hold the clue, as it obviously powers something
Will work on getting the link to work, searching the webz

Jamie, send me a PM and your e-mail, I think I should be able to send that way !?!

I don't get it. A screen shot is just an image. There are 2 ways to attach an image. Only 2. Are you attempting a drag and drop or something? This is not making sense.
