A customer was parked in the lot... 2000 ranger! Looked a little different so I talked to him. Was a 2000 trail head had the 2WD grill but the bumper with fog lights and torsion bar front.

No rust, barn find. Had the rubber floor, stick shift.

Would have been awkward taking pics so I didn't.

He mentioned not knowing what the rear end was....

I looked at the door tag (which was UPSIDE DOWN numbers pointed toward inside) and told him he had a 4.10 8.8 open.

I have never seen a backwards door tag has anyone else?

Trailhead was an early version of the Ranger edge. I believe 2000 was the only year for that model

I didn't look to see if it had the frame bracket for the front differential. Missed that opportunity.

The backwards door tag could indicate a repaint.

Good morning from North Carolina! I picked up a 2000 Ranger from an older gentleman(about my age) that I saw on Craigslist. I knew from the pics there was something different about it...I thought it was a 4x4. Turned out it's a 2000 Trailhead and to be honest I love this little truck. 208k but very well maintained. And for $1800.00,I walked away with a heck of a deal.

It sounds like they are almost kind of collectible.

You will find in this particular forum.... they are all collectible. I have 3 variations of 2000's myself but no trailhead.

And all the same color. You still need to add a steppy to the mix. I know where there is a 2000 2wd reg cab stepy 4 cylinders of pure thunder and 5 speeds hold the *uck on. It's a 1 owner truck is mint. I'll try to get a pic of it. Word I got this morning at the local gossip meeting at the coffee pot in the town gas station was Roger aka truck owner bout a new ranger and is thinking about selling his current ranger
