My buddies daughter(17) bought a $550 ranger.  I agree to help fix it.  I finally understand what you guys mean when you say these rust.

It needs manifold gaskets and im terrified to pull them. I can already tell all the studs are going to break.

Ugh I've broken them on not so rusty rangers.

If the manifold gaskets are blown it might be deeper.... like clogged cats.

Its missing a stud.  So it needs done regardless

She's going to be 1500+ into this truck when I'm done. And its a 230k mile 3.0 thats 2wd.

I'd have sold her mine for 3k maybe 3500. And its been gone through, a 4x4 and a 4.0
