 Yes, there is. The flareside bed has a narrower tailgate and bumper. On the 1992, there was no flareside option (that I have ever seen), so he would be comparing the 1992 with a 1993-2011 styleside bumper. Mounting may be different... I really don't know.

 From what lmc truck has listed the rear bumper is the same from 83-2011. Like you said I need to measure it to make sure

 Yes, I like the newer style bumper better... however, the original bumpers on the 1992 and older trucks look right at home on them.

 I'm almost positive that the rears are all the same, the only thing that changes is the front bumper hardware based upon the frame horns. 83-97 share the most consistencies in parts swaps along with some explorer items.

 Well thats a loaded question considering I am prolly one of the most overly opinionated people on here.. damn lol

I can only justify a mod like that based upon an overall theme not just by itself TBH. For me if that's the ONLY thing done to the truck is sticking a smoothed over rounded bumper on an otherwise squared off truck.. mehhhhh may not like it so much, but its not mine so. But now if there is a whole themed thing going on that really throws a twist on the combined looks,   yea.

I am going to try to push the 98'+ front end and a mid-travel suspension on my 93' for the shear fact I have what I think is a bitchin and menacing look for a truck based upon what I do.. But albeit some people will look at it and go WTF is going on there because its not there taste or cup of tea.

I'm a huge fan of "Function > Form" but sometimes, a recovering Stock-Nazi comes out and denies my paperwork.. lmao

 I'm not sure if your question was directed at me or Undrstm8ed, but I would have to see it mounted to form an opinion.  In my mind, it should blend in with the truck nicely, but we all know that a dress rehearsal is the only way to know for sure.

 Nothing to do with years of Rangers vs Bumpers, but the Stepside Bed have a narrower Bumper than the Styleside.
That being said, the Styleside Bumper can be used on the Stepside but it will stick beyond the bed sides, to the fender edge, good or bad maybe better protection.
If you were creative and a welder, you could add some plate to the side and create a side step.

 Just an FYI. The stepside bumper is very strong. It collapsed the 2001 F150's front bumper and grill on the one that rear ended me a few years back. I did not have my trailer hitch in the receiver but other than a scratch I had no damage. He hit me hard enough to set off his airbag.
