Hi all, I am in the process of replacing the hood release cable on my 2000 Ranger. I removed the latch, removed the cable from the latch, removed the 2 screws from under the dash holding the handle part to the dash, now for my question, I can wiggle the cable but it will not come loose from under the wiring bundle by the under hood power distribution box. Is there a clip or a retainer holding it in place?.

Theres a clip that pushes in on the inner fender. A good tug and should pull right out

That's how I changed mine. It was either that or remove the battery and fuse box. A quick tug saved alot of time
