Has anyone done anything creative with these 3 useless holes? Was thinking switches or something.

I use it for change to feed parking meters.

Be worried about bumping a switch at that location when I use the cup holder behind it- which I do pretty much daily.

OK perhaps I live a simple or possibly a more complicated life LOL.

Being on a toll road means I am many miles from my house. I would not take the ranger on trips due to poor fuel mileage, plus my trips usually include family that cannot fit in a Ranger.

I will drive and walk a half mile to avoid parking meters, plus most modern ones do take cards now.

PLUS I would hate to have someone crack my window just to steal 3 quarters 2 dimes and a nickle because they can clearly see it through the side window. Crack kills.

Hmmmm possibly sell the shorty and get a full length? :)

I would like to see a full length in a regular cab but the room they take up. I had an 86 regular car with a full length console from an 84 mustang gt. It worked good in that truck but the fix body mustang consoles are low profile and not as bulky like an explorer console. I say go full length if that doesn't work for you put the shorty in

The highway I use to get to work (Garden State Parkway) is a toll road & I do not worry about someone breaking my windows to steal some change because I never lock my Ranger. There is nothing worth stealing in it, & if someone wants the change they can have it.
