Was just looking at your tire and wheel combo, I was looking for something like that for mine. I can't find one for the rear in 5 spoke over 8" and yours is obviously a 10? What are those? I was about to settle on 8's for the rear, was looking at the mamba brand.

I've so extremely busy at work here lately..  It ready for the dyno now. I need to still put new wires and.a fresh set of plugs in just because it's been on a startup tune..
I've been driving some...  in my opinion, for something that never came with a v8 from the factory , it feels stock until you hit the gas. I am VERY pleased on how the truck turned out

The wheels are 17x9 and 17x10.5's 03 cobra replica's. The front does require a.spacer .everyone runs a 1 inch bolt on hub centric spacer..HOWEVER... I pretty sure you can use a 1/2 inch spacer. I ordered them so I'll see soon

Last update on the AC.. vacumed it down last week  and charged it up.. checked it again today..NO LEAKS!!  So check that part off as complete and functioning as it should! Let it sit and idle for 15-20 minutes, if they are going to overheat, I think this is where it would.  Thermostat opened up.and it did what it was suppose to do. Stayed at 190-192.  I'm sure.dribing down the highway it will run about 195-200* or so..which is perfect

 Even fogged up the windows..☕

Nice on the AC gives us hope.
You get the spacer yet? I'm waiting to order my wheels. American muscle site is terrible, it got me cookied in to one year of mustang and I can't get out to see the wheels I want.

No.. just been to busy at work and keep forgetting. But I do know another ranger.used them and it worked, so no reason why they won't on mine. Same truck and.same width wheels.

What is the physical dimensions of your air intake tube, the size of your air filter, and the size of your throttle body?

I have a buddy with a 04 Lightening and I can pull all of those specs if you would like.

It's the stock explorer rubber elbow. Ill.measure it tonight when I get off work.  70 mm maf, I might upgrade that to an 80mm. I think the 70 is big enough.. 70 mm throttlebody..
Again...I just hope those are big enough to support a 420 hp flywheel 302 and not be a bottleneck

A 2000 Lightening MAF was 80mm. A popular upgrade was a 90mm MAF to allow them to breathe better. A stock Lightening was about 420-430HP at the rear wheel. A 90mm MAF would bump it 10 to 15 HP.

I would look at a cold air intake to your MAF that had as strait a shot as possible to feed the air through the MAF. I would also try the 80mm MAF over the 70.

On another note the buddy that has the 2000 Lightening has a guy in his Lightening club that has decided he needs a more practical truck. I don't have many of the details but it supposedly has about 70k miles, totally stock and in great shape for $10k. I am afraid I might piss off my wife this weekend.

What's up guys.. been a while! Wanted to give an update on the truck...
I sold the truck. The guy that bought it DID  finsh the truck, all brand new interior and suspension, installed the 8.8 ranger rearend and added disc brakes. Paint is getting done after winter.  He has been driving  and absolutely  loves thw truck. He bought it to go to cars.and coffee cruises and ride around with his  daughter to create memories! Win win situation. Here is a couple last pics of the truck... after he put the 2/3 drop on it..

Now... I'm trying to work a deal on a rod knocking 2000 Ranger  in South Carolina, I'm in Missouri. There is nothing here . I'm looking for a very specific truck and found it over there..900 miles away. But hey, road trip never hurt anyone..lol
I used the black truck as a test bed for me... First v8 ranger I have messed with. I will say this..I have done several v8 s10's,  a v8 ranger  does ride better and has more engine bay room and cab room!

NowI will do thw frame off I've always wanted to do. I was going to do that on thw black truck but wasn't sure how the truck would act with the 400 hp v8 under the hood.
My theory was to build a daily driver v8 ranger, with ice cd ac, and be able.to sit in traffic in thw middle of summer and not worried or sweat. The truck did what it was suppose to do. To be honest, there was a couple times the temps got.to 209-210*, that's ok, but cuts down on the "oh  " time frame.  LMAO I think with a small auxiliary fan for stop and go traffic..qould be zero issues. So..plan.is ro go.ahead qith second build.. a frame off!
I want to thank everyone on here for the help, Things I had no idea on what I was doing.. especially James! He helped me so much with wireing questions when I had brain fog and didn't even use a BFH on me! 🤣🤣☕

But hopefully I can close the deal on this truck in SC and get over there and get it.. oh yes.. there will be a build thread right here and only here on that truck.. a Lonnnnnnng thread.Š
 MERRY CHRISTMAS  GUYS!!!

Sounds sweet! Any details on the ranger you are going out of your way to purchase?

Merry Christmas!

It'd a 2000 regular cab short bed step side with all power options . I just prefer one with all options. Hate leaning over to roll down the window to be honest..lol
Twin truck to the black one . I bought the black one with rod knocking v6 also.  The new build will be a 331 with a blower and t5 as well.  Little diffent setup but still will have Ice cold ac and be a daily driver. Should be 550hp to the tire. Thats where the blower comes in.. drives like a somewhat stock truck until the peddle hits the floor.☕
MERRY CHRISTMAS  to you as well man

A 550 HP engine in a Ranger? I suggest finding one with zero rust on the frame then reinforcing that frame or it will end up like a pretzel. I would also recommend a narrowed 9" rear end with a 4 link with a 3:31 or 3:42 ratio. The third thing would be to a much wider rear tire. Fabbing wider wheel tubs or extending the fender out would be interesting.

These are all mistakes I made years ago with a 500 hp boosted engine in a half ton truck. I was burning the rear tires with normal shifts and later when I had the stickiest wide tire I could fit in the wheel well I twisted the front frame bad enough I broke the engine loose from the frame mounts.

Yeah the one I built  here was a test bed for me.. to see how the truck reacted and rode with that much power. It felt like a stock factory built truck until you mashed the pedal.  I didn't build it to sell . I was going to buy back my old fox but that fell through and I'd already sold the truck. So..I'll build another one except with a blown 331.
These little trucks you can tuck a 315/35/17 on the rear with stock suspension.  It's what I had on the this truck. 17x10.5 wheels. A 17x11 also tucks in the rear(not sticking past the bed)
But yeah, I'll be adding some cross bracing for sure.. just for the track and sticky tires. Buddy of mine has a bone stock frame(no bracing) and he runs 11's .It's an automatic.  Little less harsh then a manual truck on the suspension.
Goal with the newer build will be to have a 10 second daily driver with ice cold ac.

My silver one has all the power options, I feel ya on rolling that window down. I would trade it in 10 seconds for a 98 99 or 00 mine is a 01. Considering putting the 00 front end on it, something about those turn signal lights.
