A 550 HP engine in a Ranger? I suggest finding one with zero rust on the frame then reinforcing that frame or it will end up like a pretzel. I would also recommend a narrowed 9" rear end with a 4 link with a 3:31 or 3:42 ratio. The third thing would be to a much wider rear tire. Fabbing wider wheel tubs or extending the fender out would be interesting. These are all mistakes I made years ago with a 500 hp boosted engine in a half ton truck. I was burning the rear tires with normal shifts and later when I had the stickiest wide tire I could fit in the wheel well I twisted the front frame bad enough I broke the engine loose from the frame mounts.
