 Odered new SP413 for my 06 ranger 3.0,thru e-bay,$17.00.
Next, spark plug wires.
plugs are motorcraft. Don't need um yet,truck still runs fine with orginal
95,000 mile plugs.

 Always nice to have fresh plugs though, one less thing to worry about :)

Glad to see you posting.

I think new wires just plain look cool regardless if they are needed or not. Gives the motor that "maintained" look.

 I may be wrong, but I believe the SP413 is the standard copper that is nickel plated. They will last 20-25k miles. The platinum or iridium spark plugs can make the higher mileage.

My last set of FoMo copper plugs had opened up the gap to .075-.105" at 31k miles and I was getting misfires in 2 of the cylinders. The duel fire coil is hard on spark plugs.

 I pulled one original plug.It said MC platinum.I called Ford ,
they said the platinum,was replaced with nickel sp 413.He said they last longer.
Next is motorcraft WR6083 spark plug wires.
I'm glad to be here,but i still have go to my g-mail,or FRF to log on here,my home page
won't let me,for some odd reason.

 Yes,i too think new wires,will help appearence.
I wanted to find yellow wires,but all i could find was performence wires,
that cost a arm and a leg.So i'll just stick with Motorcraft.

 The DIS on your vehicle uses a waste spark system. This means each plug fires every full engine revolution. Furthermore, the way the coil pack and spark plugs are configured result in the spark plugs on one bank firing from the center electrode to the ground, and the spark plugs on the other bank firing from the ground electrode to the center electrode. This is exactly why you need to use double platinum spark plugs.

 That is true, from the factory it comes with two different plug types,one per bank.

For the double platinum 100k plugs it's not worth the price, and most I saw, including the factory plugs, didn't have platinum as the material for both electrodes.

I just used regular NGK plugs and will replace at normal service intervals.

 Thanks, and i hate to admit that it took me a *lot* longer than i'm willing to admit :(

Ford really screwed up wire routing and design when they moved to the plastic intake runners, some *very* bad routing there as you can see from crossed over leads.
