Got my rear frame section today from work. I might add it was FREE!!!!!! Started cleaning with a wire wheel. Such fun!!!!! Its actually very relaxing.

Pretty clean piece for coming off of a 98. Came with brand new spring shackles and new hangers.

May I recommend a product called Chassis black by Magnet paints...better then POR15 because it has UV protection and hardens, also its cheaper.

When I did the frame & engine compartment on my 69 Mustang, & the frame on my 2000 Ranger I used Master Series paints. First I used the silver which is like a primer, then the chassis black.

No I did not. It had a lot of surface rust that I cleaned as much as I could get off & then coated the frame. Here are a couple shots of the frame from 1 year before when I was replacing the rear leaf spring shackles.

It looks good. Mine cracked in the very back. I'm dreading taking the bed off. I've learned from my job taking bed bolts out of a Ford can be a job in itself

About a week before I was going to remove the bed from my truck I got under the the bed & sprayed the bolts with PB Blaster several times & used a new Torx bit & it made it a little easier.

When I took the bed off of the frame section that I got from work someone was kind enough to put stainless steel bolts and stainless steel  clips on it so it was easy. But the bed on my truck has been on it since FoMoCo put the truck together.

If you want to bring it up here you can do it inside.

I'd love to help but as you have seen I have a couple things going up here myself :)

With the tools and equipment you have there it would be way to tempting to do more then change the frame. But if you want take 70 east to exit 213 hang a right drive about 8 miles to Flushing I'll be there working

It took everything I had but I literally cut my truck in half tonight. Tomorrow after work I have about 30 rivets to cut off then some holes to drill and put it back together
