Let's try again.

You would think after my lengthy recent thread about v6 firing orders and coil dynamics I would double check.

Took 3 tries to get it right, this was the second:

AND third try, a nearly perfect running OHV 4.0 out of a 99 explorer in a 98 ranger.

After that we put the radiator in and topped a few fluids off, time for a test run. Black06 took it rather easy on it. I took it for a spin in the mud out back and simply love the way it slides around with the limited slip.

It needs some adjusting but it is drivable.

It's got the 3.73 LS rear end, the tow hooks in the front I have never seen anything so thick on a truck that small, bucket seats, shorty console, power everything.

Biggest problems are the ABS/ brakes in general, and the back doors simply will not open. The mechanisms have been soaking in brute blast for a month at least and will not budge.

Overall it turned out OK for a rescued vehicle, transmission was something I was worried about being it could not be driven when I bought it but we won on that one.

I bought it with the intent to sell it, I never really bonded with it enough to keep it.

It is going to a good home and I get some much needed help because of it. And a few parts too I bet :)

When I change the front bumper on it you can have the tow hooks. I spent the afternoon in the basement going through my inventory gathering up some parts for whitey and I got a method of attack for it. I really love the looks of the 2006-2011 trucks but yet the style of the 98-2000 trucks is a classic look. So i came with a plan to have both. Going the restomod route. 2011 front bumper keeping the 98 grill and lights. 06-up mirrors and taillights. Power dome hood. Should be a fun build

I've got your tail lights I'll bring them for the next episode. I'll bring the door shells too and I have the a-pillar trim for non grab handle.. I have to keep something LOL. When you get a-pillar trim I'll rivet the brackets on.

Take that radio I was showing you too it is the original one out of my ex cab I don't need it and it is the best sounding one I have as a spare. I have the "just cd player" version but I swear it does not sound as good you can have it instead if you want.

Truck ran great no problems at all until I pulled it in my yard started to spin put it 4 high left hub hung up and blew out. But that's typical for a vacuum hub front. So it's getting converted to a live axle set up. Good thing we saved the front suspension from that expo Jim.
