I recently was notified by YouTube (as was millions of other content creators) that my channel will no longer be able to monitize my videos because I don't have at least 1,000 subscribers, etc.
Not like I was making much from my videos, but a buck or two a month was nice & after a few years it finally paid out where I was able to afford a couple extra memory cards for my phone.I still plan on making videos of my projects & hope to do some product reviews & other nonsense to help pass the time.
With over 300 subscribers to my channel, I'm very grateful for everyone who has subscribed, watched my videos, liked & all that stuff.
I have a Patreon page started, but I'm not sure if I'll go live with it as I don't really like the idea of asking people to sign up just so they can donate a monthly $1... (well I think it would be more like $1.39 now since they changed their structure recently) and even with a $1 donation, I'd only get like $0.69. The only people really benefiting are Patreon & PayPal.
If anyone would like one, I do have my "Buggman LED's" decals to show your support for the low price of $3 for one or $5 for two.
Of course I'll be doing my LED conversions, radio bezel mods, plugin LED's & custom aluminum goodies as long as I can.

yeah, the minimum they'll let you withdraw is $100 and it took me over 4 years to get that. Wouldn't you know it that the past few months have been better than ever?!?! Just when I think I'm on the right track, they change the schedule.

Early on I used to make make a hundred every few months. Then they changed they're pay structure. I haven't been paid in forever. I feel ya though. It sucks that they've got greedy

Not exactly our.. umm realm but there are several other platforms like D-Tube, Steemit, among others that monetize videos. There popularity are only held back by the non existence of the many flooding their channels.

Youtube has decided to fully enter the entertainment world with the recent advent release of their own Television if you will.

The amount of people running away in droves will drive the creative away and the mindless in flocks. Just watch ;)

I did a red 5 flash server for a site I hosted that did music vids. Now flash is evil.

I would consider starting a video hosting service even if it doesn't make me rich.

Bandwidth is getting cheaper every year
