Been there, done that. You can get the shots but they eventually do not work as my system has built up a tolerance. I need to be off them for 3 years before I can try them again. I am on year 2.

For many years I had a job where I traveled 90% of the time. I would volunteer for remote jobs in areas that did not have pollen issues form mid March till mid June. This worked well until I had 2 months in South Australia during their pollen season.

 That is the plan, when I go into full retirement or find a job in the area we want to retire to.

Pollen count 5533 today. Switched meds and I am somewhat better.

That is why my wife & I live where we do, we tried to live in central Florida for 4 years after we were married & my allergies bothered me year round.  After 4 years I could not take it any more & moved back to NJ.

 Beautiful day except for the 3212 pollen count. I had to do some yard work and pulled out the lawnmower and gave it a pre-cut inspection. This is a John Deere 115 rider that is almost 20 years old. I almost made it one lap when one of the front tires blows out the sidewall. It is an original tire as the other front is as well. They haven't had any tread on them for at least two years so I drove it till it failed. 

I got the wheel off and pulled out my tire spoons. I fought with it for a while and finally took it to my bench vice to break the bead. Once I was able to break the bead all the way around a 10 minute struggle with the spoons had the old rubber off a very nasty wheel. I had slimed both front tires about 5 years back because they were leaking. That stuff is nastier than grease.

I made the trek to Harbor Freight with the intention of buying 2 new front tires but they only had one in stock. I also got new valve stems. When I came out of the store this little truck was parked two spaces down from mine. Old school cool.

The new tire eventually went back on the cleaned up wheel after I installed a new valve stem. I tried for about a half hour to get the bead to set and finally went Redneck Engineer on it. I grabbed my torch and a can of starting fluid. I squirted a little bit of either inside the tire an lit it with my torch. POP! The bead was now set and I put 15 lbs of air in it and reinstalled it on the mower.

I grab my grease gun and put 2 squirts of grease in the zerk and it went dead. It was out of grease. I replaced the cartridge with a Shell synthetic that was Blue. The old grease was a synthetic grease I used to use on large satellite drive systems and it was red. I added 3 more pumps until I had purple grease weeping. I cleaned everything up and precoded to mow the lawn.

The 55 minute job of mowing the grass took just over 4 hours. I had plans of mowing and then going to a car show but the show would have been over by the time I got there.

I might be related to her lol. I can't stand summer,I'd rather it be winter. Spring and fall are the best but winter's better than summer any day. If it's not windy I can usually be outside when it's in the 40s in my jeans and cutoff t-shirt and be fine. I wear cutoff t-shirts year round,don't even own a sweat shirt. I'd prefer living in Alaska myself or maybe Wyoming or Minnesota.
