Nope, not planning on it. I sincerely hope I DON'T make it to my ninety's. The way I feel now, I don't think it would be worth it.

@Rob: I can't hurt you. All you have to do is run about 6 feet and I will be winded. Had pneumonia 5 times, a collapsed lung (at 22 years old), smoked for 27 years (2 packs/day for most of it), not to mention TB. Lungs are DONE!

Like Turd, I'm 33 years young. I've never smoked and I rarely ever drink. The military has kept me pretty fit for the last 14 years, but all those activities have cost me. All in all though, I'm in fairly decent shape. For now.

Working with the the tactical comm equipment has also caused the hearing to go down as well.

The military is hard on the human body. Although you both sound like you enjoy(ed) your active service time, you will pay the price with pain and discomfort. For that, I thank you!

Sorry if I misled you, but I am not a jumper. I actually volunteered for my position because it was one of the only places in the Air Force that my job could go to jump school.
I applied and started my class III physical, all was well until they got in my records and saw that I had a herniated disc in my back. They sent me for another MRI and the results were actually worse than the previous MRI.
Fast forward a year, I tried again with a new airborne flight doc (Lt Col) who again sent me for an MRI...well, lets just say he denied me as well!
So I pack the chutes and run the drop zone. I get to ensure everyone else comes down safe and kick myself in the ass for not being able to go. In the Army though, if you have a pulse and don't have sickle cell...you're in. The Air Force acts as if you're a pilot to allow you jump, lots more strict for no reason.

All of the riggers I was associated with jumped. I thought it would be fun but I did't care for it. I did the mandatory jumps just to stay qualified for the extra pay.
But then again MacDill was not your standard AF Base.

Good morning everyone, 57° here this morning. Today is the end of the string of very mild days. Starting tomorrow it is back to the usual temp's for this time of year 30's & low 40's. Between this mild weather & the rain we had yesterday it has melted almost all the snow from the storm the end of last week.

Good morning guys! 15* here in Southern Indiana. A bunch of snow and ice on the ground and a high of 22* predicted for today.
*---
Coming home from work yesterday evening (35 mile commute), a guy in an F150 (I think) was passing me. Just as his rear bumper came even with my door, he lost traction and his back end came toward me.  I tried to avoid him, but he still managed to tag me with his rear bumper on my front one. That set me into a slide.  He got straightened up and kept going... I ended up in the median, backwards, with the rear wheels buried in the mud.  Luckily, a guy in a RAM 4x4 stopped and pulled me out. Saved me a wrecker bill, which that money will now go to repairing my busted front valance and whatever else got messed up.  The truck is trashed with mud all over and under it. I also noticed that I now have a thumping metal-to-metal sound in the right front when I hit a bump, so most likely a busted shock or lost a sway bar bushing. Great...

And the F150 guy didn't even stop? He's bound to know he clipped you. Dash cam time. Glad you are OK it could be worse.

Yeah, he HAD to know. Just a douche bag driver. I was running about 35, which was about top speed for the conditions. It was blowing so much snow at the time, it was difficult to see, and you couldn't tell where the lanes were. Just as his bumper got even with my door, I heard his engine rev up, which caught my attention (he had louder exhaust). So I know that is when he lost traction.

No dash cam, unfortunately. I hit the median going backwards at an angle, so I was praying that the wheels didn't grab anything and put me into a rollover. Luckily, that didn't happen.  So yes, could have ended up MUCH worse. Thanks for the concern! :)
