Neither. Since I've got a Level II that came with bucket I opted to add them to these seats. Fabbed a wiring harness with connectors, added switches in the console behind the cupholder, used the one remaining vacancy in the same relay block containing the relays for the auto lamps for the heated seats, and established a dedicated circuit fused up inb the BJB under the hood. Yes, it looks totally OEM; some of the pics are in my gallery over on fordtruckfanatics dot com and I've got several more in a file here. Most time consuming part of the project was planning them doing a very neat, clean and sanitary wiring job then documenting the work just in case there is ever a need to troubleshoot it.

So you got the heating units out of some JY seats and put them in your existing seats?

No, I bought the heating pad kits online, bought new wire at NAPA, and grabbed a few electrical components from a JY. For example, the relay block (is now located behind the headlight switch for my application, located here because access for relay replacement is easy when that door is removed) came out of a 2000ish Explorer, but it had to be disassembled and reassembled to get a 3-relay block. Doing this can be a PITA as they are easy to break. Same with getting the yellow section of the BJB out without damage, and for this reason it is good to grab extras while at the P&S.

*Speaking of the heated seats, I found that this is great time to rough in any plans for the heated 06+ mirrors if you want those.

Did you do a how-to on this? It might be something I would do in the future.

As for 06+ mirrors; that won't happen on mine as I have the Thunderbolt turn signal mirrors. However, many people on this and other forums upgrade to the 06+, so it would be a popular mod if you post a how-to. :)

As I remember he had an extensive how to over at the other place. Not sure where his pictures were hosted from, if they are still visible or not. A lot of people lost to photobucket...

Yeah, PhotoFuket... love what they did to forum posts and how-tos. That is why Jim wants everyone to use our gallery to store pics for how-tos. As long as the forum is here, the pics will be also!

In reference to the "other place", he said he had pics in his gallery, so I'm thinking PB didn't destroy his documentation.

There is a fix out there for the photobucket issue if you use Chrome. I haven't done it, but I have heard that it works.

This fix will allow you to view the pics, rather than that irritating replacement image?

Firefox is my browser of choice, but I have to use Chrome for some things at work.

This is a cut and paste from my bike forum.  Says you can do it for FireFox as well.  Give it a try.  Over there everybody seems to like it.

If you're using Google Chrome, go to the three dots on the right side of the screen and click them. A drop down should appear. Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again. For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on add ons. Click search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result.

That is freakin' amazing! It works great in Firefox. Thank you for this great tip! Funny thing... I found the extension and installed it. But before I enabled it, I went to FRF and found a how-to about the 06+ mirror swap. Sure enough, there was the photobucket "Please update your account..." placeholder. I enabled the extension and voila!, there was the picture... I was the guy's hand with middle finger extended, flipping off his truck where the old mirror used to be. Kind of like flipping off Photobucket! LOL

Photobucket will eventually find a way around it so copy what you can while you can.

Yeah, it's only a matter of time, but it will be nice while it lasts. I cancelled my PB account right after they pulled their little snafu. I hadn't used it for anything important, as I like IMGUR better.

That will fall also. I was playing with image hosting and registered ultrabucket.com but never finished it... for the reasons the others are dropping free image hosting. Bandwidth cost money. Much more than storage.

True. Now that we have this site with the gallery, I don't use my IMGUR account anymore. I don't see any need to post images to other Ranger forums so the hosting is a moot point.

Good morning everyone. 23° here this morning with a real feel temp of 19°. We ended up getting 1-2" of snow yesterday afternoon/evening. It is going to be a "work in the garage" day today doing more of the wiring on the Mustang.

Good mornging! 34* here and sunny. High 54* forecast. Going out to purchase some supplies to do a cluster recolor this weekend (if something doesn't get in the way of that).

About 40 with a slight drizzle outside here, looking like the makings of a do nothing day today.

Good morning everyone. It is a sunny & mostly clear 25°. It was above freezing yesterday & is supposed to be for the next week so the snow we got Friday afternoon/evening will be gone soon.

You know, I knew that (in the back of my head), but it still seems like you are on here at "regular" USA times.  Don't you ever sleep? ;)
