Can't help but agree with people taking matters into their own hands, given that this has become a large and growing problem across the country. Nobody deserves having their shipment stolen, so leaving a shitment isn't all so bad, lol. Get a load of this....

*** EDIT: Damn it, can't leave a safe link to a video hosted by a local TV news station in the town I live in AND a youtube option DNE. :(

PM sent back. It's an innocent website for a news station that's been around since 1952, owned by the wealthiest, most influential and corrupt families in this community. Their proven track record is not online/internet data grabbing, instead to they use their great power and media holdings to destroy and run people who don't play nicely with them out of this community. Same with our police department, bad habits die hard. :)

I believe you can still post http links with code tags I'll try in here.

Problem is especially with pictures it breaks the SSL routine. You will be thanking us in a couple years when there is no regular http left!

Not trying to squeeze people at all just building the safest environment possible for all users.

OK Confirmed, you can post http links un clickable with code tags. If the member decides to copy and paste and something happens, it would be their fault I am perfectly ok with the code tags method it poses no immediate harm to our valued members.

Maybe. I've been screwing with. building, etc 'puters for nearly 40 years now and I'd like to think I run a tight ship here. Just twice have I had a machine of mine pic up something malicious, and BOTH times it was because the malicious item was so fresh that anyone online and in the wrong place at the wrong time got hit (ie, millions of innocent people) and no, it wasn't pron sites or any other remotely high risk place, it was a matter of very bad luck. Live and learn, in this case run a second AV package and one from a Eurpoean based company, and this for a good reason.

***EDIT: and I had to do the second post because I messed up where I inserted my text, and could NOT go back and fix it via edit because my text was accidentally embedded in the quoted text. Can't add "first time" text below a quoted item via edit. You're right, my day is rather interesting and it's got a long list of action packed opportunity to present more fun before this even (finally) comes. :)

I'm so paranoid of viruses I don't use windows.

Drive by viruses are more and more common these days, you are correct it can be just an innocent site.

I don't have a prob with windows but you won't see me using W10 and you won't see using IE, but if I must it won't be later than V8.0 (because, these are both known spyware; "FO" Microsoft, grab your data from someone else, lol). If I can't see something under these terms then it's probably not too important or worthy of my time.

Just to jump in on this one - it is not just that the site may be corrupted / carry malware - in itself https does nothing to stop that.

The problem is twofold - first, the data travelling between servers is not encrypted, so anyone could intercept it / read it / inject things into it - second, if you have secure and non secure content on a web page, more and more browsers are throwing a "dangerous site" warning up or coloring your screen a pretty red color. This is not reassuring for potential members!
