I've decided that after Project Vietnam is completed (more parts being ordered tomorrow), I'm going to add a piece of history to my growing collection. The M1 Garand. Initially I was going to purchase an AK after Project Vietnam, but here's the rub.
I can go just about anywhere in town and get an AK with little trouble at all. The biggest headache would be the traffic. M1s on the other hand, not so much.
So sometime after Project Vietnam, expect to see an M1. I can hear the ping already. Oh, wait, that's youtube in the background....

Damnit that is beautiful. Call me Smuckers because I'm jelly. *rimshot*

Curious madmaxx, do you use an adjustable/ported gas plug for your M1?

I'm thinking about getting one so I don't have to be as ammo-conscious and so I don't have to go through the expense of learning how to reload.

Yes, i chose to go with the ported gas plug after looking at all their test data, it was solid.

The old bat is at it again. S 2095, what might as well be the potential 2018 assault weapons ban. Not exaggerating, here. Everything from Garands to Glocks is in her sights.

I made a thread here about it which goes on a bit longer.

https://www.ar15.com/forums/general/ATTENTION-S2095-ASSAULT-WEAPONS-BAN/5-2050858/?r=-1&page=1&anc=69100841#i69100841

TL;DR: assault weapons ban, contact your reps, 2nd shall not be infringed, *bald eagle screech*

They are really after the bump fire stocks and the likes, and then categorise "assault weapons" completely on their own, saying they have no place on our streets - they just do, not, know. :(

Behind their blatant ignorance, they know exactly what they want and what they're doing.

I'm glad a lot of people have this figured out.

Try arguing with an anti gun loony. Impossible to get through to them no matter how much reality you spew.

Agreed. That idea appears to be spreading around rather quickly.

Ultimately what they want is power. They can't 'rule' (for lack of a better word) over anyone as long as we as citizens have these mass amounts of firearms, they know they can't do what they truly want. They want innocent lives lost, they want the citizens of the US to be defenseless, and they do it all behind the face of ignorance and 'common sense', despite all evidence to the contrary that has been displayed.

I've come to the belief that the only way to shut these people down is to expose them for who they are and show the US population what they actually want using their own words and actions against them.

Hiring Trump helped, but it doesn't look like it is the ultimate answer. I don't have an answer.

In the mean time I'll stockpile every firearm and as many rounds as I can.

I'd think so too just because most, MOST gun owners are a bit more on the awareness sense. But then when people see things like this, as you stated with out the context involved and like everything else that gets misconstrued, you will get varying grades of intelligence trying to interpret visuals as to what ANYONE'S meaning or thoughts can be altered who lacks critical thought.
The shear fact that I posted that pic with what I said if posted on say FB for example, sure you may have a few seriously in doubt such as yourselves here but the run of the mill average mind would retweet or repost that as truth in true dereliction of gun owners abroad.
Thank you all for being who you are and how you are.!

Further case in point.. when MSM uses a 12 gauge shotgun to demonstrate how destructive an AR15 is..

NBC Using a shotgun to demonstrate how much damage an AR15 can do....

My order from Windham Weaponry is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Buffer tube, buffer spring, buffer, ejection port door kit, gas tube, fire control group, charging handle, and a handguard removal tool.

All I lack is the bolt carrier group, upper receiver, and the barrel. Final stretch!

I hear your excitement..

This last AR I've been working on is at the same point. Needs the BCG, the 16.50" barrel i want, the Diamondhead rail to go with my Diamondhead muzzle.

I think I am going to swap out the buffer tube and spring as well as the rear stock piece to these:

And then I'm going to have a SEAL friend of one of my buddies paint it up for me.
