You will never see a post from me listing my ammo inventory or my gun inventory. I have purchased many guns through dealers that all have required govt paperwork. Here in GA to buy a used gun from a private party is the exchange of the money and gun with the understanding the person buying the gun can legally own a gun but there is no mechanism for verification in a private sale.

My cousins in Texas tell me I am under-stocked. I need to load up some more ammo in a few different calibers.

Ditto, I thought you were joking because of the kayak position on the rack, wow real sorry for your losses that is really bad news.

Based on what I've read and seen on YouTube, yours is the exception.  It has been a couple of years so, unfortunately, I don't recall brands and such... just the terrible results.

The position of the kayak is because I am a bit lazy just tying it down with the seat somewhat centered between the uprights. It has to be upside down so that any water can drain out.

The kayak is my answer to more exercise. My knees and hips give me trouble if I walk any distance and is worse if I try riding a bicycle. My shoulders, arms, back, and chest get a good workout.

As far as carrying anything in the kayak besides the paddle, it would be lost as it has dumped me twice. Once the first time I was in it last year and again a few weeks ago on a class 3 rapid when I was trying to surf the hydraulic. I have a tether on the paddle.

Well, I decided I was going to buy 1000 rounds of 9x19.  Went to TargetSportsUSA.com, decided on some "cheap" Blazer Brass 115gr FMJ (.26/rd).  It showed in stock so I added it to my cart.  Cart wouldn't let me check out as it said my order exceeded the in-stock quantity.  They deleted the order, right in front of my eyes.

Have you tried gun-deals.com yet?

got back from my CCW cert class a bit ago, AZ is a constitution carry state so it's not needed to open or conceal carry, but having a CCW makes any interaction with cops easier, Buying a gun without a background check (since they do 5 with your CCW and with each renewal every year), and a few other perks. so worth getting. right now every gun purchase I've done since feb has taken at least a week because my stuff goes on pending for 3 days, usually over the weekend. etc.

Gun Laws in California are getting to be a pain... and now Ammo is under a clearance check !

I have my Gun Permit, WHY do I need to go through another check just to get ammo ?

I don't mind the gun check, but this Ammo Check is another story... it was repealed by a federal Judge but somehow it is back !

Not a lot of places to buy ammo, some of the stores don't want the trouble of the check.

I'm trying to find a location to buy ammo, if anyone happens to know of a good store in Southern SoCal.

I have one more Shooting Ranger to check out... !

I cannot imagine living in Cali right now... It seems to keep getting worse and worse over there.

Time to start reloading. It is not hard but it does require attention to detail.

Normally, I wouldn't consider reloading 9mm.  But with it hard to get, I may buy some dies along with powder, primers & projectiles (oh my).  My son has everything else and he can teach me the basics.

After seeing this, I have a deal for you!

I have a 40 year old Mossberg 500 with a 20" barrel smooth bore, a box (25 ct.) of #7 birdshot, and 4 boxes (5 ct.) of 00 buckshot that I will sell you for $1000

Actually, this is a setup that I just sold to a buddy of mine that is going through a nasty divorce and he is staying in downtown Atlanta. He has a receipt for a $10 sale with a stipulation I get first choice on re-sale for same amount. FYI: never put a time limit on a pre-nup. He got served from California two weeks after the pre-nup  20 years limit expired.

I'm normally not that easy.  But since I JUST got accepted at the gun club, I want to have some ammo to shoot there.  Yeah, thinking I might reload 9mm if I can purchase the stuff to do it.  It may be hard to get as well.

Thinking of moving to AZ, have planted the idea with the wife but got a weird look from her, but open carry might be worth it !

My ammo stock pile is approximately 3500 rounds of .223; 1450 rounds or 22LR, about 2000 rounds of 9mm, and 100 or so of the .380... if someone gets too close the little .380 will work well.  Also about 500 rounds of 20 ga double buck and 50 rounds of bird shot, just to piss someone off !

Tried to place the order again for upgrade my quantities but still having troubles.

I did order 8000 rounds of .22 cal Pellets, that was a breeze, no one asked why I needed so many; but it was just a good deal, and they do a great job on the over population of Rabbits and ground squirrels out here.

Normally I would say "hell no" to yet another Californian moving to my state... but it doesn't seem to stop them. if you work in IT at all, they are leaving cali in droves and coming here and to tx. half of my co workers lived in cali less than 5 years ago. a lot of people have moved here since corona virus, since they could buy a home here and work remotely.

I actually read somewhere that California was charging a "Moving Away" tax to try and deter residents from leaving.

If you had access to a press you would need the dies (one time cost - less than $50 used), small pistol primers ($35ish per thousand), powder (CFEpistol $28 a pound = 1555ish loads), projectiles (Bayou Coated 124gr $265 for 3500 = 7.6 cents per), and brass (hopefully you have been saving yours).  After the dies you could make 124gr RN for about 12.3 cents per round. You probably know somebody with a vibratory cleaner/polisher and a single stage press. On a single stage I can pump out about 95 rounds per hour if everything is going right. On my Dillon 550B progressive press I can press out 400-425 rounds per hour. I spend one or two hours a week on the press.

I have been casting 120gr conical point lead bullets and coating them with High-Tech polymer coating. I have a liter of the coating and I have coated over 10k of bullets and I may have used 1/4 of the solution. It was about $60 back when I got it so a bullet cost me about 2/10 of a penny to produce. I have primers that are over 10 years old that I paid $22 per thousand so I am less than 5 cents per round on 9mm. I only have a 6 place 9mm mold, a 4 place 357 wad cutter mold, and a .308 150-160gr mold that is usable. I also have a .451 mold that only one of the cavities of the 4 is still usable.

Well, for starters, I wouldn't mold my own projectiles and we don't (yet) have a brass cleaner.  We always recover our brass (as much as we can find).  My son has a new Hornady single stage, scales and other stuff, so I would have to get the dies and supplies as well as a cleaner/polisher.  I will take some time this weekend to see what the supplies would cost to get started with 9x19.

Seems like every time something major happens in this country, the first thing to go is ammo.  Very irritating!

A used Lyman turbo 1200 brass tumbler off Ebay is in the $30 to $40 range. A 10 pound bag of corn cob grit is $20 shipped.  Add a bottle of liquid car wax and you are set for cleaning/polishing (you only need a tablespoon every third batch).

I sent AW a link for quality used dies at half the price. That is also where you can get the corn cob media for cheap. PM me if you need it

For bullets the coated lead from Bayoubullets, SummersEnterprises, bearcreeksupplybullets, or missouribullet are all good sources for range bullets. Shipping is running about a month behind for everybody. Don't bother with plated bullets as they are the least accurate when compared to Jacketed, coated, and bare lead. Bare lead can be shot in anything except polygonal barrels like Glocks if you keep the speed at 1100fps or slower - I try to keep them at 1000fps. I can provide proven load recipes for range ammo that utilizes coated lead projectiles - they may need to be tweaked +/-  1/10 to 3/10 of a grain to fine tune them to your gun.

I appreciate that, Tony.  Since you sent the links to AW we will look at them together.  You sir, are a wealth of information! :-)
