Wow!  At 11 yards, the LCP never hit the target ONCE?  Dang man, that *IS* abysmal.  Have you considered having it looked at by a gunsmith?  Even a first-time shooter should be able to hit the paper at 11 yards with most of the rounds.  Based on your targets posted on Imgur, you are a decent marksman.

I'm a terrible shot, but now that I will have a place to practice, I intend to get better.  My biggest problem is holster draw to trigger pull.  I struggle to get a good, firm and proper grip coming out of the holster.  I'm am just "okay" when I simply aim and fire.

LOL nope. I sold it. because of current environment I got more than $100 more than I paid for it originally... I've never liked shooting it. .380 is not a big round, but it almost hurt to shoot because the gun was so small.

90% of my shooting is at steel targets. I'm good enough to ring steel just about every time I pull the trigger. That's good enough for me. I'm fortunate enough to live close to the desert I can go shooting pretty freely except right now with the fire bans in place, but it should be open in another month/month and a half.

My Glock 26 was like your LCP.  If it was 15 feet away I could manage a 2 foot pattern. Anything further the only way I could hit anything was to throw the gun at it. I tried to sell it for almost a year year for $375 and gave up last December. When the gun run started I put it Armslist for $425 FTF and $445 shipped to FFL. It sold to a guy in TX in 3 hours. Short barreled semi-autos are notorious for being hard to shoot accurately.

I have looked hard at the Canik. I just wish it came in something other than 9mm. My LGS has one that is a fully tricked out race-gun. It has the threaded barrel for the suppressor or compensater, stipple grip, milled slide, RMR Red Dot, and ceraKote American flag graphic. It is the bottom end model that is showing what the gunsmiths can do.

With the crap going on I am carrying the Glock 20 10mm right now. I want power with fire-power right now.  I will go back to the 357 when things calm down.

I always figured, if the cops and military carry 9mm. It's probably just fine for any kind of situation I'm in. I love my 1911, but man the price on .9mm makes it so much more attractive to shoot with.

Well, it's official.  I am now a card-carrying member of the West Side Sportsman's Club (WSSC) of the Evansville area.  Orientation was fun and the guys were great!  Plenty of ranges, so I won't have to worry about going there and NOT having a place to pull the trigger (they even have a Cowboy Town!).  Lots of events scheduled as long as COVID-19 doesn't get in the way.  Today... was a GOOD day!!!! :-)

Going to a July 4th party at a friends house, the focus will be shooting. Time to sight in the sig, throw 100 rounds through the smith.

I can't find 9MM anywhere locally where are you gurus getting it on line?

I make my own. Right now I am pressing out a 120gr conical nose coated 9mm bullet. I sat down with a buddy one afternoon last month and we worked the molds till we had about 5k of them. He is shooting them raw but I have a toaster oven that I am putting Hi-Tek polymer coating on about 300 per batch. I am shooting 9mm for just under 5 cents per round. I also have about 2k of 38/357 140gr wad cutters I need to coat.

My local LGS has popular calibers available: http://www.pnrammo.com

I use them mostly for powder and primers. They are a veteran owned shop that produces their own ammo.  If they go out of stock on something wait a week or so and it will be back in stock.

I haven't bought any for a while, but I was getting 9mm at local Rural King and Academy during "lockdown" ('cause bullitz is eesential!).  Targetsportsusa.com might be an option for you.  They have Federal Independence 115gr aluminum case for .16/round

I think Midway has some, Brownells, i think classic firearms have some, erm, targetsportssusa, and another place too.  I'm still running from my built up supplies.  I saw someone mention they just grabbed a box or two every pay cheque - i liked that, and within reason, i tended to get a bulk pack or deal.

Cool I'll check them all and see who seems to be the coolest. I'm under 200 rounds right now it's "deplorable".

Wife on the other hand since she is a wall to wall 22LR person... VERY well stocked. Probably 10X or better than what I have.

I actually took inventory (I keep it in a spreadsheet) not too long ago and I only have 1846 rounds total between 9mm and 22LR.  I NEED to buy some more!

Just did inventory:

.45 - 676 rounds

12ga - 175 shells

.38 special 200 (this is for my wife's revolver, she doesn't shoot it much)

.223 ~ 2100 rounds (not pictured is a sealed can I store elsewhere in the house).

9mm - 100 on the table with 850 more on the way.

.22lr ~ 4200 rounds.

Some of those I really need to pump up a lot, the 9mm and 12ga for sure.

Your what?

I wouldn't have the .38 special, except my wife wanted it. I sold my .380, so one less ammo to have to stock. I LOVE my .45, but going to 9mm for cheaper competition shooting. and in this day and age... Everybody should own a rifle...

Interesting!  The last half of my post disappeared!

I was saying that my ammo inventory is pathetic and I need to do something about that.  After work, I plan to stop at the range for a little while, then fill up with gas.  Right next door to the place I buy gas is Academy Sports, so I think I will stop in there and see if I can get a few boxes of 9mm.  Maybe some more 22LR if they have what I want and it's a decent price.

I'm jelly, All the places that sell ammo around me are either, 1) completely out of stock, or 2) have their prices jacked up to insane levels (because people are willing to pay for it). Hence the online ordering.

My sons Kimber Raptor 1911 has swayed me to think I might like to own one (1911).  Problem is, it seems like the 1911 platform doesn't work very well with 9mm... at least what I have read and seen on YouTube.  I really don't want to have to stock another caliber of ammo either.

Online ordering is fine if you are buying in bulk where the shipping is free.  Otherwise, it can get pretty crazy.  As of a month ago, I could buy 9mm Winchester 115gr FMJ for .20/round.  I'm okay with that.

I was so close to ordering a 1911 in 9mm, but didn't want to buy something that wasn't relaible. that's why I went with the Canik (please ignore the taurus in this comment).

Current inventory:

I went kayaking and lost all my ammo when it capsized. I was almost in the same spot where I capsized and lost all of my long guns last week.

You mentioned that in a post a few days ago.  I thought you were joking!  I assume you were able to recover guns AND ammo?

I have a Colt Government in 9mm that has about 20K rounds through it. The 5 or 6 jams it has had were all ammo related that would have jammed any automatic. The 9mm 1911 is my primary range gun. It is the only gun that I have bought that was "right" out of the box.
