Although never having owned one, I have always liked the Bronco.  Rumor has it that it is returning in 2019 along with the Ranger.  Here is a pic of the "proposed" new offering:

I think it has a nice retro look... all while maintaining a fresh, modern style!  What are YOUR thoughts?

Here is a link to the Road & Track article:

I would have to agree with that also (with the exception of the Ranger).

I like the new ranger but I'm not a fan yet. A more retro look would have been nice

IF Ford made the new bronco exactly as pictured above I would buy one. I love how that looks. The new ranger... not so much which makes me sad :-(

Older post, but just to clarify - at the auto show the Ranger team was clear that the Bronco would follow a year later as a 2020 model.

I look at the new Ranger and think Ford Edge Crossover... not what I want.   Why didn't FORD make the Ranger with this front end on it, I would have already put a deposit on it.  Sort of two birds with one stone, interchangeable parts, more efficient product, and we wouldn't be stuck with a car/truck for a Ranger replacement !
I am hoping that Ford doesn't come out with a full size version of the Bronco instead of this little guy, I like it and may consider buying one but only time will tell.
I heard in all the hub-bub about the Bronco, that the starting price will be around the $27K range, so after a few add ons, (What ever they might be ?) it will be in the $35K+ range and a Diesel might push it higher... Diesel ???.  Only time will tell for sure.

Also, this popped up and to be lose, lose !   I for one will not be buying one, their goes my last hope for a Ford to drive in my retirement.

You do see the four door... RIGHT !
I read where Ford is only going to produce a 4-DOOR version;  just a rework Explorer 4-door !

The blue one reminds me of F150 with a camper shell on it. Yeah, I see those "extra" doors. What the hell is Ford thinking?

Exactly !

RED is what I was thinking !
Might need to hold off on the Cummins thing just to see where this is going !

The cost of the Diesel will be a great down payment !

Wonder if the winch is going to be a standard feature with certain trim levels or if it will be extra?

Most likely will be a pay-for option. Just like with the original Broncos, people would buy and drive them because they were fun, not because they "needed" them. The winch wouldn't be something your average consumer would need.

I agree, Ford doest do anything to help their customers, money, money, money !

JAMMAN wrote: Wonder if the winch is going to be a standard feature with certain trim levels or if it will be extra?
That would be asking a lot of Ford, I would be happy to find out it is going to look like the first picture.. AND of course change the Ranger to look like it too !

I think you are right, suck them in then hit them with MONEY Hammer... give me more !

JAMMAN, this is what I was saying in the Multi-Quote Button Posting !?!  I edited the original quote posting three times !

There was a post somewhere on reddit from a ford design engineer that yes, the new bronco will be a 4 door based on the everest. Why 4 door and not 2 door? well the same reason the 4 door wrangler outsells the 2 door 4 to 1, and there is no 2 door tahoe (remember that used to be just a 2 door model as well). 4 doors is what "people" want.

I am very interested in the bronco if/when it comes out. I have 4 kids. I like to take them off road/camping. what 3 rowed options are there out there? the tahoe is too big/soft/expensive, The 4runner loses its 3rd row if you get the off road package. If the new bronco has 3 rows, an off road package, and can hold some junk behind the 3rd row, all for around $35K? I'll have a brand new one in our driveway day one. If its more than $40k, it will have to wait till I can pick up a lightly used one. We have a ford Flex we LOVE, but its only 2wd, and I sold my Cherokee, and am looking for something I can fit my whole family in.

AIC, my guess is that the new Bronco will be well above the $35K price point.

A 4-door Bronco. That sounds like a vehicle a lot like the Explorer.

I agree. Makes no sense to me. Maybe Ford plans to retire the Explorer line.

The explorer is a unibody fwd suv that shares a platform with the ford flex, and is/was a derivative of the volvo xc-90. The bronco would be a body on frame based off the ranger platform. Very different vehicles, despite looking possibly similar.

My guess is they are going to compete with the 4runner, and that starts at around $35k for a part time 4x4, so we'll see. typically the US brands often have better incentives.
