I can barely tell him from the other now that there is so many pointing at me. Looked OK when there was only 3 or 4 during testing but now it is a little "Vague".
Does anyone else think I should add a light bar or a blue hue or something to better tell when there are new posts?

OK proposed new image. I don't think animation is needed but considered it. Thoughts?

It shows that there are new posts in a given topic.

Isn't that what the little green down arrow is for?

I thought it was that green icon, but i also don't understand the darker background on the top topics in recents?

More obvious is good for me.

The darker background is for pinned posts. Its more obvious when browsing instead of using recent.

Chris had an idea for a no new posts icon, I kinda like it what do you think?
New posts would be facing forward and no new would be this one.

Maybe, though a nice idea, i don't think having a negative as well as a positive would be that clear to people if they didn't know.

An obvious positive (indicator) for new posts is very useful especially when paired with the ability to click it and go straight to the first new post.

When did you change the "No New Posts" indicator?

LOL last night. Like or no? Last one looked a little "fuzzy" this one is more crisp.

It is darker than the other one, so it blends in more with the background.

Anyone else feel that having a no new posts icon is too much?

I think just have the icon when there are new posts, stands out more.

Also, anyway to show the icon on more than just the first screen?

1. No. LOL just you. I am a member on like 10 forums and host like a bunch more, only seen it once and it looked real empty.

The other side is spinning, jumping, flashing. One customer wanted a red flashing sign that said "NEW POSTS!".

An equally emphatic no.

2. ? The icon is in front of the section with new posts. On the forum view there are yellow icons for new posts and blue ones for no new. A host of others also with no explanation. I used to have a legend for them too but it was taking too long to load. Back in the dial up days.

New posts would be facing forward and no new would be this one.

I like the front of the Ranger for new posts, & the back for no new posts. At a quick glance you could see what threads have new posts. Nice work :cheers

You can, of course, just hit the "Unread posts" button at the top of the front page and get all new posts since your last visit is a list - scan down them to see if anything interests you - explore if you want and then hit the "Mark all forums read" button to clear the list.

Alright, is there anyway to set a default font size to see? In all honesty, i'm close to having to sit way back from my screen with how big some users fonts are :(

(*whine, whine, bitch, complain*)

Personally, even with my fading eyesight, size 3 is good as long as the color isn't too dark. Bigger is fine with me... then I don't have to keep cleaning the nose prints off my screen...

@Jim: by using the Ctrl+Scroll, I can zoom in so close that I see that rock chip on your left rear quarter right above the mud flap!
