Limits on editing?

The only limit is the 24 hour time limit from time of posting.

There are no limits in the editor itself.

Lol - the buttons in the top bar are a set of images over which we have no control - writing a new set would be difficult - there is another very plain set but they are Sooooo boring!

No - the colored buttons I was asking about are these ones -

Lists - to get out of a list just press the enter key a second time and it will show a new blank line without the number or dot.

Sorry, I thought you were calling out the color of each of the buttons.  They all work ok and are readable as needed !
As I said the actual color intensity is probably my computer and the color of these buttons you mentioned is good, the colors indicate what is happening, RED, don't touch, Yellow, caution check it out, and Green, go for it !

What does the "Blue - Reload Last Post"do and for what purpose ?

When you post, preview or cancel a posting, a copy is saved to the the server, so if you change your mind about canceling or something goes wrong with the preview or posting and you get an error then reopening the editor afresh and pressing the reload last post button brings back that last post.

You could also use it if you wanted to put the same or a similar post in different threads.

But it ONLY saves the very last post, previous ones are overwritten.

Try it on a blank editor and you will see what it does.

I was posting to a thread and wanted to use a photo from a post pier to mine.

I went to the picture, clicked on the "Copy Image Address", went back to my Posting and clicked on the Link Button...  Wham-Bam, got the address but no picture just the Addie.

Help me out please, "Is there a way to copy a picture from another Posting and put it in the posting I am making" ?

Using the older editor, it asked for a link and you would Paste in the Link and done.

Please HELP ?    What Button ?    What am I doing wrong ?

Thx

Chris,
Just got something else.
I posted today around 11:20 AM and expected a response from you.
I got a response today around 3 PM but it wasn't for the last posting I did... not sure what posting it was for !?!
I went to the Thread and there was no response today as the thread implied.

Not sure what is going on but I think the the notifications should state the thread and at least part of the posting.

I posted a response including a copied pic but it pasted code instead of the pic so I deleted the post - hence the notification for a non existent post.

Sometimes you can just copy & paste a pic and it works OK - you can also drag & drop a pic from another post.

There is another facility in the new editor to import a pic using the same method as the old editor, but I hijacked the icon for the gallery insert. Once I find out how to get a new icon for the gallery  I will reinstate the insert image routine.

OK - fixed it -  the "G" button is back!!

So now you can put an image URL into the Insert image dialogue OR use the Gallery to upload from your PC.

Sounds GREAT !
I found the old "G" Button to be helpful when wanting to re-use a picture already posted.
I was using the Cut and Paste Method but I guess I was thinking you wanted the editor to do it !
Again the Editor is the best one I have used on the Web...  thanks for that !

Thanks all the changes you are keeping up with, you guys are doing a great job developing a Site that should pay off in the end.
Luck,

p.s.   The Tips at the top of the Page, another good idea !

Not to add to the plethora of requests.. newer editor does seem to have some more controllable characteristics. However, that leaves me a statement and with 2 questions.

If you look in the "For Sale" section where we've been putting the commercial posts for the time being. If you see the last of the month of February ad we put up. I can email either of you gentlemen the original ad to show you what I am trying to achieve. When I pull our google .Doc created ad and control V it into the body of the new post. The editor creates or interprets possibly its own set of tables. Everything shows up so to speak but with a limited manipulation it can be altered and made to look "good" but not like the emailed version that our subscribers get good. Which leaves me with these thoughts.

(a) Is there information based on a particular formatting that can be cross-shared between the Sites editor and ANY other program that works within similar or same rules? If so, what suggestion do you have to help clear and clean up the ads for better if not proper presentations.

(b) is there a way to insert or drop in a .PDF file with interactive links, one that just doesn't add one as an attachment that downloads immediately to a viewers personal computer or phone, some people may not like that regardless if the file is harmless or not. Even i find that rude of an assumption to do.

Even though this isn't our site, the randomness or un-uniformed look would drive me nuts so in an effort to keep our postings clean, professional, and legible both in reading, pics, and structure is kind of important and our way of treading lightly and packing out what we packed in. lol

thanks guys

Me again !

I was just using the New Editor... and the new buttons placement, i.e. Post, Review, etc., and I for one think the old buttons were better, no guessing.
The placement isn't necessarily the problem but the actual buttons and the ID is !

LMFAO !!!  Funny Chris... the fix for the little buttons and waiting for the description to pop up !  I needed a good laugh !

I went to the Editor to post, I don't use the Quick Post anymore, and there at the top Menu Line.. WERE THE EXPANDED BUTTONS !
I had to laugh about it, thanks for accommodating this old guy.

Thanks / Ltr

p.s. Just  quick question, "Why were the Buttons on the bottom row and sized appropriately, a problem" ?
I not trying to stir things up or am I asking for a back-step to the lower buttons, but just interested in the way people think !

The lower buttons were a hangover from the old editor - they were not actually part of the new one and if you maximised the editor you lost them off the page - by incorporating them in the editor itself you can write and post from the maximised editor without having to minimise it first.

First thanks for all of the work to get the Site working.

Next, I am only trying to call out things I see that could be problems so I hope I am not causing more grief than I am worth !

Last but not least, you are the master here, so what you say... goes.

Ltr

p.s.  Thinking out loud, so what's new... was there ever any consideration given to the idea of a "LIKE Button" ?

Chris,
How's the "LIKE" Button working ?
I have clicked it a few times, I think it shortens the overall Threads, does that help with the storage required by the Site ?

Thx

Seems to be working just fine - the aim wasn't to conserve storage space, rather to provide a facility to users that they wanted.

I think facebook / instagram / twitter etc have had a huge influence on user's expectations and if we don't satisfy users they will simply move on elsewhere.

I'am missing something!. I've yet to find the G button yet I have been reminded of that in the past. Is it because i'm on the old ranger and not the new ranger?
