OK there is what I thought was a scammer. I feel kinda bad, first message I sent him was "there isn't an edge 4 X 4"

No reply.

The edge was not a 4 X 4 it was a 2WD with torsion bars, you should change your ad

No reply.

So I flagged him.

No reply.

I was looking at marketplace today... sure enough the same truck claiming to be an "Edge Plus". Plus was a package with aluminum wheels and perhaps one of a couple other things....

So I went to his dealership site turns out he has a dealership. One star rating.

But there are more pictures of the truck and the dash picture shows the 4WD switch on the bezel.

?

Was there one edge that was a 4WD? It is a standard also

The Edge package had 2wd or 4wd options but was always on a 4x4 frame. It also included body color front and rear bumpers, rubber flooring, and only the 3.0 or 4.0 engines.

Edge Plus added in basically XLT features - cruise, aluminum rims, tilt steering wheel, and power options.

Personally, I believe a factory 4x4 Edge is a waste, since it is a blank slate for your own 4x4 conversion. But then I remember most people who want a 4x4 just buy one in the first place.

This one is a year old so it is old enough for me to post in.

My EDGE is a 4x4, 3.0L, 5-Sp, rubber mat, and T-Bars.

It also has Cruise, Auto Interior Light and a decent CD-6 Radio.

Not sure what is normal, but I do like it.

Of course mine has changed a little from OEM !

If I had 4x4 I would like life better.

That will be the next upgrade along with a 7.3L engine. I see a F250 in my future. I will be at least 2 years in my future. I want the factory 35's.

While I was looking at the pricing on the new Rangers and the F-150s, I looked a the price of the new F250, decked out the way I would like one and believe it or not the F-150 and the F-250 aren't that far apart.
Almost worth the extra Monet to just go F250... my problem... the engine selection !
I would like to see Ford offer a 5.0-5.3L V-8 Diesel.  OK I'll take a Cummins... but Ford's engine line up is slim.
I know the Power Strokes have been in few different configuations, and they have gas motors, that is if you want to pull the Gas Station with you... but a smaller diesel would be good and not a V-6 version.
Prices of new Truck are ridiculous.

The pricing is increasing 3 to 4 times that of inflation over the past 30 years.  I have a F-150 Lariat Diesel, F250 7.3 sudo Lightning, and a f350 7.3 and Diesel FX4 all priced out they way I like. The F-150 and F-250 are within a couple hundred dollars of each other, the F350 has me in the early $60 area.

I have had a few new F-150's and a couple 3/4 tons that were not a crippling strain to make payments on but the last one was a 2005 duelly that it was close a few times. I haven't had a truck payment since the duelly and I have done though 2 inherited trucks and I am driving the farm parts runner (The Ranger) until it dies or somebody makes a serious offer I can't refuse on it. For a new truck I have a hard time wrapping my head around a price tag that is a couple thousand more than what I bought my first house for 35 years ago.

Exactly... I built my first house, a few years back (LoL), for half the money of a new F150, it's too bad the GREED has infiltrated EVERYTHING.

Good Luck on your next one, mine will be the Ranger until it dies, either with or without the new frame idea.

I am leaning more towards a F250 Lightning makeover with the 7.3L with 5th wheel setup. The camper manufacturers have programs  to deliver their product to the distributor  with a week to 10 day delivery time.  I can burn 30K  a year on this program and pay off the truck in 4 years.
