 This is in an 04 FX4 L2, looks stock and I'm embarrassed I did not know they existed. Is this some sort of interior package option that was offered or.....?

 I'm not 100 % sure but I think it goes with a special 120w something pioneer with a sub in that console I believe.

I've never seen one.

Short lived option I guess? Or is that what came in the Tremors?

I'd love to get my hands on one.

Pretty sure that is the console that comes with the Tremor package.  Will be a sub enclosure behind the seats.

Tremor is 460, 510 or 550W depending on who you ask, with a sub in a box behind the seat.

 That sounds right.  I've never seen one in the flesh, just pictures.  I came close to buying one when I bought the EDGE I have now.  It was down in Smyrna, TN.  It was real purdy!  I ended up buying the EDGE instead because the Tremor was a lot more money.

 Part of the pioneer tremor package. The console held an 8" sub and amp. But it could be bought as an interior upgrade along with leather seats without the tremor audio package on later models. Kind of a rare option on both setups.

This is the only one I have seen in person so ofcourse i had to turn around and snap a pic. I never feel comfortable peering inside of another person vehicle unless they are there to get permission so I couldnt confirm the console. 

I have googled ranger full length console and seen a few examples like the one you have pictured. I'm not a fan of the floating arm rest. I had a shorty console with that and the hinge would break too easy. Bad design for an armrest if you ask me.

 I have never seen one in person too... but I read that you can get a Tremor  Option on an FX4.
There are plenty of pictures out there, I searched "Ranger FX4 Full Console" and got a lot of pictures of this console and what lies under it.
Not sure if you get the console if you get the Pioneer System too but something to look into.
It is a shorty Console on the back end and the special amp/woofer and cover on the front, which interlocks with the cup holder on the shorty.

 So the sub is in the console like I tought?
Or was it standard in a box (in a tremor) and an option in the console?

 @Arthur: I have seen pictures of the console with the sub inside also.  Not sure if maybe those are just for a single cab truck as there would be no room to put that big separate sub behind the seats.  All speculation on my part.

 The console was optional on tremor audio equipped trucks. Standard equipment for the tremor was in the rear seat area. I dont think the tremor was offered in a regular cab. Could be wrong on the cab offering. You could also in later years order an interior upgrade package in non tremor trucks that included the full length console with leather seats. Rare option due to price increase as it was only available on xlt extended cab models. On tremor trucks if you opted for the console you got leather seats and the pioneer 8" sub and amp was mounted in the console instead of the rear seat area.

I went back to post it on this site and I can't find it... !

But the enclosure had the amp and a woofer but the size wasn't mentioned; it was designed to fit the floor contours.
