Wow the info on this differs all across the net.

We basically have 3 beds for rangers. 6 foot, 7 foot and steppie.

I can't get within 20 LBS on any site everyone has their own input and I'm guessing a lot of... guesses.

Anyone have real info on this? Including tailgate.

I have no idea except from manhandling them
The stepside seems to be heavier then the metal beds but I am told they are lighter.
Good thread, will be watching
If I had a hanging scale that went up high enough I could weigh them I have a detached 6' bed right now

There is a local yard waste place here that has a scale, you can dump shrubs for free if they trust you, I'm a trustee. They weigh your truck on the way in and out. I was thinking about taking some shrubs there, then taking my bed off, bunji strapping the fill tube and making a trip back with a tree strapped to the rails LOL. It's close enough I could do that.

Adam might know or have access to that info chime in oh master dismantler.

@Jamie: the fiberglass PowerDome hood weighs MUCH more than the standard hood (I have been told some years are aluminum). Anyway, judging from that, the steppie bed is probably much heavier than the 6' steel style side bed.

2 cheap harbor freight 20ft tow straps might help with that keeping it level.. just a thought.

But I agree, 2 decent sized guys can lift one rather easily, but I didn't see any weights but if I had to guess a weight, I'd guess 265-280lbs maybe for the standard 6ft bed. But I'm better at guess women's ages than weight of inanimate objects. lol

Take an engine hoist and 4 ratchet tie down straps. I was able to remove my stepside by myself when I replaced the fuel pump. It took longer to get the bolts out than it did to get the fuel feed lines and bed off.

I have had the bed of my Ranger off several times & I use marine grade rope run through the in bed tie down hooks in an "X" pattern & lift it with my engine hoist.

I did the same thing but used the ratchet straps so that I could lift or lower a corner when I went to put it back on. I did wirebrush and paint the frame with Rustoleum while I was there.

I usually use two people, four makes it a lot easier, it doesn't weigh much !

The Steppie is lighter.
