 It's been over a year since my truck was painted. I'm not sure you all will be able to see in these pictures but after washing the truck it has an area about 2 inches square on the door pillar that has these small bumps about the sise of freckles. I've had my truck clay bared and waxed about 6months so I dont understand what this is

The bumps are just above my fingers in the reflection 



I know it's hard to see but is  anyone familiar with paint know what this is? It's like my truck has a rash. Lol

 If the bumps get bigger it could be the paint lifting. Due to moisture that was trapped under the base coat or under the clear coat. Hopefully it's just dirt. Dirt wont hurt it. Moisture on the other hand means complete repaint. It could even be rust starting under the base. Keep an eye on it to see if gets worse

 Poor prep work.
Moisture.
Paint not wet enough.

Did you wipe down the vehicle with a Tack Rag before painting and after any sanding of paint ??

Did you do more than one coat with sanding in-between ?

Did you apply a Clear Coat, if so did you sand before applying ?

What grit sanding paper did you end up with before applying paint ?   Believe it or not too fine on the Sand Paper can cause lifting in the paint because the paint couldn't attach properly to the surface.

Did you prime the vehicle ?

If your compressor is on the smaller side, it may generate too much heat while over-working to paint the vehicle, which will create more moisture... i.e. water in the lines !

The above are guesses, I haven't done paint work in a while but the name of the game is excessive prep work.
As well as... Warm/Dry area to paint in, Water Filter(s) on the air supply lines, draining the compressor tank and letting the compressor and air lines run open for a short time to drive out as much moisture as possible.

I didnt do any of those. I paid a shop a ridiculous price to do them and I'm so dissapointed.

Wow, that too bad, 2 years ago, and you didn't see any bumps then... thinking out loud, it has to be rust forming !

My response, after re-reading your OP, could be rust under the paint, poor prep work from the shop... take it back to the shop you got the work done at, ask for their opinion... !
Maybe IF you can be nice, not me, they will offer you a solution that is both affordable and reasonable, seeing their methods were a little shoddy.

 Ok on the underside of the truck, I do understand but just watching the bubbles could be the worse thing to do, I'm thinking there is rust under there and by the time you see it the paint will be the only thing holding things together.

If you know someone that does baby work, and there is a need to fix it, get their opinion, before it is too late !
