My latest truck has a sprayed in bed liner. It is OK but is chipping.

I kind of like spray ins because things don't slip as badly.

BUT the drop ins stay cleaner and in better shape USUALLY.

I have one I can put in. Has anyone dropped a plastic liner over spray in?

Question 2. Will a duraliner out of a S10  fit a ranger? I don't know anything about S10s has anyone done this? I just happen to know someone who has one.

S-10 liner will not fit. You can put a drop in over a spray. The spray in will actually better protect the bed from scratching that leads to rust when drop in lines are used. My dad had a spray in liner he added a drop in then a rubber mat on top of that when he had his 04 tremor

What brand spray liner is it? Do you know or do you know how to tell? "MOST" of them offer some form of warranty aspect and will administer a touch up over time to maintain them.

I've found the Linex to be like grissel off a steak in some ways (over stated). Rhino Liners tend to be more rubberized like a rubber stamp but now both companies have variants of the other in ways.

I'm a fan of the spray in's due to the fact they dont take up much room in the truck, especially in the corners and around the wheel well areas and leave a lot of the beds original functionality. The plastic ones as someone described due tend to slide around and god forbid you get any small debris or rocks between it and the bed it will scratch it. Thus possibly making you consider the spray in to make it look better later anyway. lol

What I am NOT a fan of and I'm positive I've made several references towards it and or remarks is that if you're using a topper/camper shell/Flip-Pac type unit: DO NOT USE A SPRAY IN LINER, most regrettably more-so in the hotter climate states towards the west or South.

These liners give off gasses that can be toxic to breath at any age of use, obviously the newer the worse but still yet.

OK point taken,I will not put the cap on then sleep in the back of my truck. ;)

I have no idea what it is but it is the thickest roughest spray in I have ever seen. Might be some sort of industrial aftermarket thing the truck was owned by a construction company.

I have seen Rhino liner installed up to like 1/4" thick, its like a thick rubber mat when installed that heavy, very very durable

I still like my two part epoxy Monstaliner DIY roll on coating, no offgassing and it has UV protection, plus it priced right

The visual difference between rhino and linex spray in is the size of the media. Linex uses smaller bits.

Drop ins by themselves tend to let water collect in the bed behind the cab and rust out the bed.

I researched which were preferred and it varies by region. There was not ONE thing that was a consistent complaint so I took it as a matter of preference. Like asking which engine oil is best. Lol.

I have a linex with the UV upgrade. My bed liner will not fade it will stay black and shiny. I had the regular linex but when I had it painted I wanted my liner to look new too. I had used it to haul my masonry materials and my apprentices had made a mortar mess of it over a few years. Linex has a repray if it's not to dirty. Mine pressure washed pretty clean so I was able to spray over the original instead of having to remove it. It looks awesome. I love it.

The liner pictured is over a year old

Linex offers color match spray in liners too but they can look funky depending on your color.

I like the spray in liners as they work very well (first choice). I have had 2 work trucks and one personal truck with them. I have had more rubber bed mats to protect the bed. They also work well.

I have had two trucks with liners. They rubbed the paint off the bed and anything thrown into the bed slid around as the surface was slick. I will never own a liner again.

I know one of the companies liner is tintable, so it can be made to perfectly match color if you want. I kind of like the contrast of the black liner in my red truck. Insert vs. spray in, just seems to be a personal choice.
