I'm planning to do a Mustang seat swap in my 2000 Extended cab, I know I need 95-97 extended cab seat tracks, my issue is none of my local junkyards currently have any in inventory. There are several Explorers from the same year range and I was wondering if the Ranger and Explorer seat tracks from 95-97 we're interchangeable?

I believe they are, though if you have a standard cab, you might need a slight bit of modding to the track holes.

I think Exploder seats (with tracks) will go straight in from maybe 97 to '01 model years.

In my last 2000 Ranger Extd Cab I swapped in bucket seats & shorty console from a late 90's Explorer Sport & they were a direct bolt in to the Ranger.

I was able to snag a set of 98 Explorer seat tracks today at the junkyard that look like they will bolt up to my Mustang seats no problem. I wasn't able to test fit due to the skies opening up before I got them home so tomorrow morning I'm going to test fit and install the seats.

Always thought the Extended Cab Ranger has the same bolt pattern as the Explorer.
My Standard Cab 2-dr, needed the Seat Frame, rear mounting hole modified for the Explorer Seats to fit.

The front holes fit ok, just the rear needed a little opening up !
One thing I did find out and the reason I swapped my Powered Explorer Seats for 2002 FX4 Bucket Seats, is there just isn't enough room in a Standard 2-dr Cab for Explorer seats.  The Cab is OK with stock bucket seats but the Ex Seats are higher and longer, too much interference and me with long legs, things start to get tight real fast !
Mustang-Man,Wondering about why you need the earlier Ranger Seat Tracks to fit the Stang Seat ?I'm thinking, but don't know, that the earlier seat tracks won't fit !  Please enlighten me !AND fit it up and see if you can fit with the EX Seats, it was uncomfortable to me.The Ex Seat that I swapped fit in an Extended Cab as is... the guys was happy with the swap and I was too; got new covers, heaters, and looking for foam before I get them installed.

I need the earlier tracks because of the design of the 98-00 seat tracks. The 98-00 seat tracks don't mount to the seat the same was as the older models, the mounting holes from track to seat are in different locations and the lever for seat back is mounted differently. I did not grab the whole seat with track from the junkyard because LKQ near me charges $27 for the seat and then $7 for the manual track so I just snagged the manual tracks. I plan on fitting them together as soon as I get a morning free without rain. Tomorrow morning is looking promising so there is a good chance I'll post pictures of the seats together and in the truck tomorrow. Will still need an Explorer center console though cause I'll have a hard time enjoying my drive without an arm rest.

Waiting to see and hear how it went !Good Luck, hope it goes together easily.
Hard to find these Consoles are !   There a three or four different ones.  To me stick to the short one with the Cup Holders in a straight line.Finding one of these in decent condition is harder than getting the correct seat track for your truck !

I have a 2000 two door extended cab Ranger also.  Found a set of 87 Mustang GT seats without the tracks.  -- I used the manual passengers  side track from a 96 Exp. Sport and the drivers side manual track from a regular 97 Exp.. Worked just fine. The Mustang seats being from a 2 door, solved the lack of space problem to get into the jump seat area of the Ranger, as the 2 door seats fold much further forward. ------ John
