So for those who don't know stx rangers and Mazda b series trucks and maybe tremor editions of the ranger came with a "carbon fiber" radio bezel. They are super hard to find and often over priced. Well I bought a over priced one for 72 big ones on eBay. It didn't have the 4x4 area on it so my 4x4 switch will be getting relocated. But I have been looking for one of these forever and broke down and spent some christmas and birthday money on one. Here she is

Yes, nice for sure. $72 really isn't that bad considering how hard they are to find. Heck, I gave $30 (after tax) for a stock plain one for Cameron's Ranger right after he bought it. He was pretty broke after shelling out the cash for the truck, so I bought it for him at the local pull-a-part.

Yeah I guess it is a rare piece and it should come in tomorrow. I'm currently in NC inbetween school semesters so my truck is in Idaho. I am excited to get the parts and polish her up and day dream about how it's gonna look on the interior

i've only seen one carbon fiber bezel like that, pretty rare.
i've had 2 of the woodgrain bezels that were both damaged & i had to strip & paint them. pretty hard to find them too.

I have never seen one in Hard Copy, but was wondering if have Hydrographics applied would be cheaper, at least it would look new ?

I am in the process of getting pricing on getting Hydrographics applied to the Radio Bezel, Door Control Panels and Console Cup Holder at K2 Concepts.

Here's another one.  Doesn't have 4x4 or fog switch though.

Carbon Fiber Radio Bezel

That's so tempting, but no foglight hole and it's $65 i shouldn't be spending.

Problem with these OEM CF bezels is that the CF style doesn't match the other CF I have in my truck.

i've got some hvac vents, knobs & window crank handles that are dipped in carbon fiber. got them in trade a few years ago & they're pretty cool. not sure who the guy used to dip them, but i'd think dipping a bezel or other trim shouldn't be too hard... not sure how expensive it would be though.

I was just using CF vinyl sheeting. The cheapo route. I'm not sure if there is even a place in Evansville that does that kind of stuff.

Luckily there is one about 40 minutes away from my location. Will be going there next week Foran appraisal of the parts and quote.

Hoping for a reasonable pricing !

Terry, take a look at the thread titled "Hydrographics" and let me know what you think on the pattern.

MattFX4,

That looks good, who did it and what is the area of cost ?

I like the almost horizontal lines to the pattern, usually I see the lines at more of an angle.

In my first post I thought it was a factory part and I stated I had only seen one in picture.  Then I read MattFX4's last post I thought someone had wrapped it !
OK made a mistake...  still think a hydrographic unit will look good too or even a wrap if someone knows what they are doing !

I f I were going to get a Hydrographic Dip done on other parts I think I would have the Radio Bezel done too or redone, just to make sure all matches.

I am pretty sure someone has hydrodipped a radio bezel...not sure who? But it might be cheaper than buying the oem piece Either way with my black interior I think this piece will tie in really well

I see them on ebay from time to time.

Here's a current auction but doesn't have the fog light switch.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1995-2003-FORD-EXPLORER-RANGER-RADIO-DASH-TRIM-BEZEL/263424961488?hash=item3d5559ebd0:g:d2cAAOSwbw1aHlgh&vxp=mtr

I almost bought one about a year ago but comparing it to the 3m 1080 carbon wrap I prefer the wrap only because of the dimensional look compared to the flatness of these. Still a cool part!

Now if you want to talk RARE... look for the matching door pulls... I've only ever seen them on eBay once in about 5 years so far. I think they sold for $110 or so, which isn't bad. They are power only though so if you have crank windows it would look odd... Anyone with power everything it would just bolt right in.

Is the OEM Mazda Radio Bezel made of Carbon Fiber... or is it some sort of Overlay similar to HYDRO-DIPPING ?

It doesn't seem feasible for Ford to make a special Radio Bezel for Mazda only ! Different paint I understand, Silver ike the FX4, Lvl II, I understand but not a one-off piece.

I still need to take a forty mile drive to check out a new hydro-Dipping Shop and pricing !

Not CF at all.  It's just like hydro dipping.  you can see the pattern.  It's nicer than the black bezels that we have.  But there is no depth when looking at it.  Just looks like a silk screen print in a way.  I used 3m 1080 years ago to wrap my bezel.  Gives it a dimensional look.
