My 2000 extra cab frequently has a damp carpet on the front passenger side. Behind the seat is bone dry. I've checked the cowl area and found no issues. I be also checked the back window an CHIMSL and found no issue.
Recently I came across another Ranger owner and his floor was also wet - he didn't know until I pointed it out.

Anyone have an idea where this can be coming from?

Check your coolant level and check if your a/c drain line is plugged. If your coolant is low time for a heater core.

I would bet it is the heater core leaking like stated above. Besides checking the coolant level, run your hand across the bottom of the heater box & see if it is wet at the seam of the 2 halves, & also see if the wetness has a sweet smell. If it does it is coolant & then it is the heater core leaking.

My son (ArcticWolf1911) has his dash out as we speak.  He found that water was coming in, ever so slightly, right near the bottom of the windshield where the radio antennae comes into the cab.  There is some body sealant there that, over time, has hardened and shrunk.  A trip to Menard's for some caulking stuff and he has it all sealed up.  He's gonna let it cure a week, test again for leaks, and back together it will go.

Heater core and A/C drain mentioned above are also big possibilities.

Thanks, but I'm sure the heater core is not it. The box is dry and mainly the water is clear with no smell or greasy feel.

Thanks, I'll check the antenna hole. I've wondered about it because I've been under the dash when it's raining and cannot see or feel any water. It has to be following the body behind the right side kick panel to the floor.
Thanks!

Good on both items. I've also removed the plastic inspection panels in the cowl and flooded it with water. It all drained fine and no water came in.

You would be correct.  With the dash out (for a completely different project), we tested using a bucket of water, pouring it into the cowl between the rear hood and windshield.  The water (and it wasn't a large leak) followed the body straight down to the carpet.

Yes!  Before he put the dash back in, he literally DROWNED the cowl area with about 5 gallons of water in roughly 30 seconds.  I was inside with a light and didn't see a drop anywhere.  So, he put the dash back in and he's calling it good. :-)

I had a leak from the weather strip on the driver side it was right at the front lower corner. You can kind of see where the weather strip disappears at the lower 4 or 5inches of the bottom of the front windshield between the door
