 It split on the passenger side, outside, right in the plastic.

I am going to remove the thermostat and flush everything out. I see a lot of people use CLR is this the ticket or just a good water flush to avoid breaking anything else?

 The work f250 work truck split the same way this winter. It had just enough antifreeze to not crack the block, heads, or pop any freeze plugs. But the gunk settled and plugged the heater and I guess it got cold enough to expand the radiator seam but nothing else.

No idea how clr affects any of the internals, seals or gaskets but its good at breaking down calcium, lime, and rust.

 Powered cascade works the best. Put some in let it run drain it out then take the cap off leave the drain open put a garden hose it the radiator turn water let it truck. It will clean right up
