I was just like "WOW" looking at this diagram.

I have one for the 97 mountaineer it is correct.

This is the one from the 2000 ranger, clearly shows shorting out the back lights in the cruise pods:

The whole thing is actually wrong, the on/off switch is misrepresented and the set/accel isn't a switch at all in the diagram.

I have some older EVTM books, over the years I have penciled in the corrections, some of the wires get mislabeled as do the locations and wire colors.
They sure are handy! My friend Brett had his laminated so they last forever...that cost a good amount of $$$$ to have them all laminated and put on rings... I just keep taping mine back together :)

I'm going to sacrifice a few as time goes on to scan as PDF and make them available for download in the tech section. Rome wasn't destroyed in a day.

2000 EVTM is also wrong on wiper switch resistance values. They changed IIRC in 1999, but for some reason the EVTM shows the resistance values from the pre-99 rangers.

I figured this out when I was trying to switch GEM modules from a 1998 and the wiper wouldn't work until it was on high and then it wouldn't shut off. I checked resistance values and everything was way off from what the manual said. So I looked at 99 and 01 and they were different but yet the 2000 matched 1998 numbers. Somebody copied and pasted the wrong year to the next.
