So, my daily driver (saab 9-5) was damaged last week when a guy a couple of cars ahead of me had a blow out, and the tire bits damaged my car.. while I'm waiting for replacement parts to show up, I've been driving my truck daily, something I haven't done in over half a year, and I forgot just how floaty the front end feels. I did not, but I'm 99% sure the PO torqued the t-bars. I put KYB shocks on the front when I got it, but it still feels floaty and it takes a bit to keep the front end going the same direction. is there something I should start looking at to fix, or is this just part of the front end being lifted up, or just part of driving a 20 year old truc?. I will say, is much better than my '89 XJ on 33" MT tires was, but after driving a sedan for the last 6mo every day, It seems worse than I remember it being.

The natural starting point would be a complete front end inspection. Remember, when components/adjustable settings are changed from stock and unless someone else has done the exact same things that you are changing/doing, the outcome (ride, handling, etc) will be unproven until it hits the road for a test drive and evaluatin.

floaty = check your sway bar links and bushings, also tire pressures.
After that its a shake down test as stated above. Looking for looseness in the ball joints or wheel bearings and tie rods, finally check alignment with a tape measure and angle gauge

Mines 18 years old, has bad tires and does not float at all. Yours should not either. For your safety please have it checked.

It sounds to me either something is loose in the f/e or steering, or the alignment is off. Check your tires also.

+1
I had The bolt holding the bushing break last year on the end of the sway bar. That can cause some very interesting handling issues.

There is only one good replacement front sway bar link for 98-2011 rangers imo and it's these by moog: far superior design

Check rear sway bar also can cause the front end to dart a bit of bad or missing
