My 2003 Ranger XL 2WD, Automatic, Regular cab, Coil springs was not born with a rear sway bar and I would like to add one that is not an aftermarket.  I was told that the Bronco II and the Explorer rear bars will fit however, I am not sure if they have the necessary bend to clear the shock on the right side or not as the ranger has the rear shocks staggered, one forward and one backwards.

Any input, direction, suggestions will be much appreciated.  Thanks for your time :)

You can make your life a lot easier and use one off a Ranger, any other option will require more work but is possible.

I agree with Jamman, my '88 STX High Boy had one, I had to extend the links when I added the lift.
It road well and handled my road course attitude.
Check out what came with what and then decide which way to go !

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the Explorer rear sway bar was basically a bolt in deal?

If I remember right it's a stiffer anti sway bar as well

Larger diameter too. Difficult to remove bolts from an old one well almost impossible. We need Adam or Jamie to chime in on the specifics

Isn't the rear usually smaller than the front Sway bar ?

If the old mind remembers right, not left, but correctly, the rear Sway bar on my STX was really small OD.

I do remember it helped the handling some.  When I did the lift on the '88 STX, I left it off, the truck wasn't bad, it handled ok but something was different enough to catch my attention.   I decided to reinstall with longer, larger OD links and the truck just felt right again !

The Explorer Sway Bar, since the rear axle is wider than a Ranger, the Sway bar might be too and not fit properly.

Did NOT know that!  I was always of the belief that they were the same tracking width.  Damn! I'm 64 years old and STILL learning things.  STOP IT!  LMAO

By almost exactly 1.5 inches, about 3/4 a side.

Yup I knew they were wider, the Ranger's Rear Axle should be the same, funny, all for an inch and a half.

Doesn't sound like a lot but wonder if it would change the rear swap bars ?

I have one but I need it, and shipping would be outrageous.

I hear you shipping is what kills it.  I don't want to spend $$$ for an aftermarket and some of the ones on eBay they want a fortune and they are not even complete, all they are selling is the bar and nothing else.  Got to keep looking.  Thanks JAMMAN

I was planning to grab the one off of my son's 5.0L donor Expo when he finds one.  That may not work out as planned.
