I'm not 100% but I'm 90% sure they are the same length

We would still give a .01% margin of error on the facts presented but a nice feature of Rockauto for the DIY is to be able to cross reference parts. Looking at both years at least in the 4.0L variant but we are just as positive in the 2.5L and 3.0L variants as well but the parts numbes used for OEM replacements and the HD leaf springs match.

We would be comfortable telling you that the springs would exchange just fine. based upon the following information:
1998 Ford Ranger Leaf Spring

1990 Ford Ranger Leaf Spring

My only suggestion being based upon circumstances or situation is that for as inexpensive as they are. Rather than getting another spring thats just as old as the originals undoubtedly inevitable to suffer the same fate as your original spring & depending on the use. Consider getting yourself a new fresh set of springs, reliability, and peace of mind 2-3 years from now you won't be up against the ropes doing the other side. It is a still a suspension component and we would advise doing them in pairs much like you would handle brakes or tires.

yes they will fit.
Ranger rear leafs from 1983-2011 are all very similar and will bolt in place of each other
