I ordered new u joints for the blue truck, they've started squeaking so I figured it was time to replace. Well, I bought these spicer heavy duty greasable ones and they come with the one clip that goes on the grease fitting side, but I have 3 different colors. They appear to be the same thickness, but there's bronze ones, gold-ish looking ones, and like un-coated steel. Which do I use??

Haven't checked, I don't want to drop the driveshaft out just to find out that maybe none of them do. I was hoping someone here had experience with these and could offer help.

I will be pulling mine tomorrow. I just checked and my new universals have 3 different types. Two of them are like the bottom two and the last one is c shaped. All made out of parkerized steel.

Replaced mine last night. Easier than I thought. Mine are greasable on the nub, not in the cross section lost some others. The nub with the grease fitting had a special c clip, so I couldn't use the stock ones on that specific nub, so in order to keep it balanced (I couldn't use the) stock ones, they were different thicknesses than the special grease fitting one) I just used the bronze ones and they seemed the fit. The instructions were slightly vague.

Mine went together well with the OEM styled clips. That is, once I got my crippled ass put back together to finish the job. I did have to use a press to get them apart and back together. It was all very rusted. Rides like new now. Ruff.
